I think Port's "offer" of 16 has more to do with wanting to appear fair to deal with. This could have some impact on Ryder's decision as to preferred destination.

Let's put it in a nutshell from Paddy's perspective:
Pros:
Port may have a window
Ken, Trav and Co seem like nice chaps and Gus is there.
They'll offer my old club a reasonable deal
Cons:
They're not in Qld.

Still think he'll go to Brissie for their 2nd (and maybe steak knives like 3rd rnd swap) though.
