Watching the UFC 145 prelims on Facebook and the commentary is professional, informative and non-sensational. Makes for a more pleasant viewing experience. BT could learn something from Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan.

C'mon mate, I love the UFC but Goldberg is Dwayne Russell Lite. Terrible commentator.

I dont mind BT, says it like it is and isnt afraid to callout the "special" comments guys on occasions, not sure what happened to his player identification skills though he used to be spot on but has struggled so far with that.

BT was at his peak on MMM, where he could joke along with the rest of the team. Now that he's trying to establish himself as the 'host' channel 7 commentator and 'head' of the 3AW team, he's struggling to re-define himself as a serious AFL personality. The frequent mistakes when identifying players can't be masked on television and he can't joke away (eg. 'human meatball' Dion Prestia) as much as he did on Foxtel.

In small doses, BT is quite funny. I didn't mind the 'Bieber haircut/umpire' call. The problem is when he uses the same joke repetitively it just gets old very quickly.

I have a story about what a nong Brian Taylor is.

In fact, it happened last Saturday night, when he was calling the Eagles v The Hawks.

BT made a reference about neither team kicking a goal in the first quarter, saying that it is the first time that neither team has kicked a goal in a quarter since Sydney Swans v Carlton, around the time of the Royal Wedding......in 1992!

When Cameron Ling pointed out that that was twelve months ago, and not in 1992, BT responded by saying that there must have been a Royal Wedding somewhere in the world in 1992.

So, instead of correcting himself and saying he meant 2011, instead of 1992, he tries to cover his fat ass by saying that there must have been a Royal Wedding in some country.

I looked up my copy of "Every Game Ever Played", and noticed that Sydney v Carlton didn't have a goalless quarter in 1992, but when I googled Sydney v Carlton in 2011, I noticed that neither Sydney nor Carlton goaled in the second quarter in Round 6, the same night as a Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton. But that can't be the match BT is actually referring to, is it?

I don't mind him actually. But if anyone could actually do with a second commentator beside him, it's BT. Or perhaps stick Mick Malthouse in there, if we're going with the one commentator per match thing. Just someone to bring him back "on topic".

To each their own. I on the other hand would dearly love to nail his tongue to a wooden block with red hot iron skewers. He could mumble "wow-eee" as much as he likes after that.

Then I'd tie him down Clockwork Orange style and force him to watch his own commentary.

Agree also , as a commentator he ranks very lowly.
However I rate him as a host - thought he did a great job on League Teams last season.

I liked BT on MMM. Haven't heard to much of him commentating on TV so I can't comment. It all comes down to personal opinions and preferences whether you like him or not.

The worst commentating team is Bruce and Dennis. Not entertaining, self-indulgent washed up hacks.

BT is a hack too but at least he has fun with it.

I like Dennis Cometti. He has a dry sense of humour and is easy to listen to without dominating the play itself. I also prefer Bruce to Brian Taylor. I don't want to be entertained, I just want to know the names of players from other clubs.

Ditto. arguing w/ Richo about which martial arts Glass is a black belt in and the end of the 3rd qtr was ruined by dribble trolling about some bloke (who I assume is the Bombers strengths coach) who calls himself the "The Weapon".

Was thinking this myself. Up until halfway through the third he had been really good. The team were functioning well as a whole. Then Richo said the Eagles would likely lose as they fell 9 goals down. BT has well and truly reverted back to utter ####wit mode ever since.

Might not have to worry much longer about BT if this keeps up as Richo will murder him. Richo is clearly not enjoying BT's ignorance and stupidity and can't say i blame him.
