Monaco is fine as long as you go into the race with suitable expectations.

I see it similarly to watching the final stage of the tour de france.
Cars are too big to legit pass these days..

Widen some areas and it will work.. but you gotta be spot on

The final stage of the Tour de France is equally ridiculous. It's a good comparison.

Realistically, neither are worth the time if you're wanting to watch anything genuinely entertaining.

The difference is that the final stage of the TdF is only a procession until the teams arrive at the Champs Elysees loop - after which racing finally breaks out. Monaco is a procession from start to finish.

This year's TdF will be very different, finishing with a Time Trial from Monaco to Nice. They can't do the traditional finish in Paris, due to the Olympics.

... but yes, in most years the TdF final stage is tediously boring (for at least the first half of the stage).

Time for Oscar to break his cherry.
big weekend for him, has beaten norris the last 3 qualifying sessions (Technically norris 1 tenth ahead at miami but the car upgrade was worth 2). Canada last year was probably his worst weekend for the year i think a spin in free practice followed by crash in qually he couldnt find the confidence in the car until the race itself.

If he beats norris in qually again here we could be seeing the start of his takeover of the team

Supposedly it is meant to rain. There is a storm moving up towards Montreal.

Bring on the wet.
I'm here now and it's raining. 40% chance of showers for Sunday.

This is my fifth different Grand Prix since start of last yr - sixth overall - having done Melbourne twice.

Super keen to see 3 Aussies on track for FP1.

So, looks like after the track resurface it isn’t draining water as fast as previous years so if there is a heap of rain expect red flags due to standing water 😭

Villeneuve gave Ricciardo a huge clip after fp1. Asked what the point of him still being in F1 was.
Yes I saw that interview with Danica Patrick and Villeneuve.

Of course the more important question to be asked is wtaf is the relevance of Villeneuve's views on F1 in 2024 to a global audience?

People say the same things on the regular about Hulkenberg and sometimes also reach out to clip Bottas and Perez as well. It's not surprising Dan is starting to cop strays when there's a long list of drivers banging down the door to get into F1.
