There cant be any announcement because he has to go through the RFA process or up to the end of the trade period. An announcement indicating his preference before then could be seen as conduct prejudicial to the draft, etc. This uncertainty will continue until then. Am sure there will be plenty of people (am thinking someone like a Robbo) will come out and say that all this uncertainty/speculation is unnnecessary and that it would be better if clubs could come to an agreement now. But that would be a terrible outcome.Would a declaration on destination club be disruptive to a playing group this season? Would that delay an announcement?
What would happen then is that clubs would start trying to do deals all over the place in the middle of seasons, etc. With a designated trade period comes uncertainty before it.
