I don't know why the media always goes with the faux-outrage when it's obvious a player is leaving. Teams should just deal with it. The earlier teams know that somebody is leaving the better. It's not a big secret, nor should it be. It allows them to have open and frank discussions about what they should do going forward.

Gold Coast has much bigger internal problems than Lynch leaving. They should probably focus on those.

Until you hear the lad speak, the rest of this is just media BS. They don't know anything that his manager's not telling them!
In the meantime they're just using the old chestnut "Whats good for Collingwood makes us this much money but what's BAD for Collingwood makes US THIS MUCH MONEY!!!"

Which one do you think most media outlets WANT to publicise?;)

Reality is Hawks have a need and plenty of cap room. Tigers likely to go back to back and strong appea. Pies have an emerging and exciting list but abysmal injury management so you would think we would need every ounce of Eddies hot gospel and emotional pull to get him to the pies. If he doesn’t come then I’d look to try and trade into top 5 of the draft and recruit a gun young tall

at this time of year you have to check who wrote the article before venturing any further. this one was written by a carlton supporter.

Exactly. I was about to post that the missing voice in this is Lynch.

None of this is admissible in the court of AFL trades.

To this day Wayne Carey and Dennis Pagan hate Nathan Buckley for the way he left Brisbane. He was doing the right thing by Tom Lynch, even if he didn't appreciate it.
Those two knuckledraggers conveniently forget that the deal to North was scuttled by Brisbane who even threatened to go to the AFL. They should think themselves lucky because they dodged a missile.

Agreed on Snr Saintly - BUT the other side of the argument is that having an Ablett in any team draws the ball - so all you need to do is camp on him and you have the attack nullified to a large extent.

We had similar experience with Cloke - remember all those years of bombing it onto Cloke's head??? GAHHHHHHH :sick::'(:'(:'(

Lynch at his best gets up and down the wings as well as forward. He'll be a target and help transition. It would be a matter of picking the correct leads. I don't buy the argument that he'll make us one dimensional up forward.

"Was Lynch upset that you went public on Footy Classified?" would probably be a good starting point.
It was all part of the setup. Buckley talks and Suns get upset and send Tom on his way. He can now do rehab in Melbourne where he wants to be. Win win for Tom.

The fact GCS need to drag Bucks/Pies to justify the immaturity of the players and management is an indictment and poor culture that is GCS. Lynch couldn’t get out fast enough. The fact the parasites called the media who clearly need the Pies for click bait to broaden their profile is another reason why this is a load of bullshit.

You might have to change your user name if Lynch does not come to your club.
Actually it goes back to the recruitment of the Q Stick in 2012.
Then Max joined us...so we’ve had a Lynch on our list for the past 5-6 years.
Tommy boy will soon take over responsibility.
Although Big Max is contracted for 2019.

I don't have any faith at all in the 'twin towers' concept of forward line configuration.

Isn't it working wonderfully for Sydney eh?

Gary Abblet Snr - probably the finest forward of the modern era - despite the finest ever performance in a GF still couldn't get his team over the Hawks.

The best forward line is the one that has too many threats to cover - if you have 'twin towers' it becomes predictable and the defense can cover for each other.

As it is now if Cox doesn't kick a bag, DeGoo will, if not him, Stevo does, or Thomas or even Mihocek.

Too many targets to be covered.

We have a GREAT forward setup NOW - there is an old saying on perfectionism . . . .

When you think you ALMOST have it perfect . . . .

STOP!!
The old adage “If you are standing still...you are going backwards”
Certainly applies to AFL...

Sorry, on topic a little but I had to post this for posterity...

From a story (beat up) by alleged journaist Sam Edmund.

“He Nathan Buckley a lot earlier this year because Nathan Buckley told the football world that … late last month on Footy Classified — which is all you can ask for as a consumer of our game: Honesty and transparency. But it’s not what Tom Lynch was asking for,” Edmund told SEN Breakfast on Wednesday morning.

You would think that even an "alleged journalist" could string a few words together in a comprehensible way wouldn't you"

Though even more distressing is that you would assume and alleged writer and editor would fix such trash before it went to print?

From this idiot load of tripe and assumption.

Not a quote to be seen.
Fiction in a teacup, but misspelled...

"Fracture in a D cup hidden under her spell"

You're an embarrassment to writers the world over Sam and Staff Writers.

The issue with that is very rarely does the player eventually speak, especially during their playing career. Treloar was one of the few that did, and it bit him on the arse. We’ll probably never know the player’s thought process around the decision and what the media throws up is open for interpretation as facts or simply BS.

Spot on.

If I were Lynch, would I be upset that Bucks said we had met? Yes. But would it change my mind if choosing where to go? No.

Fine with the media if they want to spin that Bucks admission changed anything about Lynch’s choice.

There’s footage of Balme at the airport from a few weeks back standing next to Lynch, and Kennett on SEN two nights ago said himself he sat next to Lynch on the way back from Tasmania - no spin coming from the media about this.

Why would it make you upset? Genuine question.
I just don’t get why someone answering a question truthfully could be upsetting. We are so far behind other sports here and abroad with player movement.
If Lynch was to go elsewhere and referenced Buck’s comments as a reason why, he is both pathetic and nuts. If he goes somewhere else for a legitimate reason, Tiger’s list, Hawk’s footy dept ect all good.

Don’t believe Tom upset with what bucks said, but on the chance that he is,
tough, got to be better than that

Because of the current landscape and media. Would the actual words spoken by Bucks bother me? No. But the media reaction because of those words would.

Would I like for there to be an open landscape where there is no media beat up? Yes. Would I like the first time coach publically admits it to be my name? No.
