A “Glass” is actually called a “Pony” in WA to make it more confusing ( or was , I don’t think anyone has used that term for about 40 years )

Edit : Phantom13 still drinks Pony’s with the old diggers

Not all pubs do imperials while others do them as standard

Almost all pubs will do our pint/Vic schooner as the standard though

Why SA/WA made a schooner a different size to every other state is beyond me.

Not as funny as Vic calling it a 'Megapot' though

As someone who's drank regularly in NSW and Vic, I think the schooner is a better side. A pot barely touches the sides and you'll need to reorder again before you know it.

Reminds me of Faye Dunaway in Barfly, her alco price for a fella offering drinks was ‘a fifth of bourbon’, had to look that one up (as in a fifth of a gallon; standard 750ml wine bottle). Apparently a US thing for when quart bottles of spirits weren’t filled all the way.

If you were in the military as a young adult and spent time in several states then the variant beer lingo you pick up quickly (and the on base bars are obviously a separate world with a from all over clientele). I seldom drink beer and yet I feel like I’ve ordered all the kinds at some point.

As a non beer drinker I HATE when I have to order someone a beer because I don’t understand all the sizes!!! Why can’t they just be small medium or large what the **** IS A SCHOONER

Don't you work in hospitality.

There's a pony , but no stallions.
There middy , 7 oz...pot.
Pint , and schooners .

For other drinks Tall ball , tumbler.

Prob missed a few been a long time between drinks .
