Thread has been rolled over to Part 16 here

Used to be some website where you could watch all sorts of messed up CCTV stuff (people stepping in front of trains etc) cant remember what is was called but i think we all went through a morbid phase like that.

I watched/saw a dude step in front of the express train at a Melbourne station when i was in high school (it was just post school get out time too), not something id care to see again.
Liveleak?

I didn't have an opinion either way but it seemed a little strange.

I think firstly I probably wouldn't have filmed it but tried to look around to see if there was someone who could help (while obviously understanding that was probably pointless) - but if for some reason I chose to film it, I'd probably be quiet maybe I dunno
Yeh i cant imagine that filming would have been me go to either i just didnt really get the criticism of it. Until youve stood 50m away from someone getting ****ing torn apart by a shark in some surf i wouldnt be judging anyones response.

I'm lucky enough to be able to choose from either the capital city trail or go down to Williamstown then Altona for any decent kms I want to do these days.
I run a gravel rig so planning on a few more rail trails this year as well - a few 2-3 day trips.
This is me to work. 25ish kms, half on capital city then a short stint on the princes hwy service lanes (which is shit).

The only time i feel unsafe is from about Marvel stadium to Spring St. If im going to come off and get hurt its gonna happen in that final 4-5 kms and pedestrians concern me more than cars

I cross under the spider bridge and down Montague St once per week, that's definitely the worst part of my riding. When I ride in the CBD I find pedestrians clueless around the Melbourne Central / Vic market area.

My closest call in the last two years though was a nutjob who got on two wheels on his mobility scooter just outside of Warburton on the trail there. Go figure.

I'm lucky enough to own a car so I don't have to annoy hundreds of people

Nah I just drive my car on bike paths because all the cyclists are on the road
Good luck (Image of GVRT):

100%.
I'm in St Kilda so you can imagine the nuffies I'm talking about.
I refused to ride Beach Rd, I'd much rather shoot down the Yarra trail and up to Kew and deal with the tack monster.
The eastern fwy trail is much nicer anyway, not a latte' as far as the eye can see!
