I find no good comes from discussing diet with people unless the specifically ask. At the very least then if they start to judge you can say "hey you asked".
They did specifically ask. I don't mention it unless I'm asked about it.

So does green leafy veg I thought?
If you mean that which must not be discussed, legalise it so you don't have it grown in some poor sod with a pokies problem and a debt's home.

Do you lead with the carnivore thing or the crossfit thing when you meet people? Real sophies choice that one.
"Hi, I'm .... I'm a CrossFitting carnivore".

Then it's up to them which one they want to ask me about.

Just got racially vilified at the Thai place across the road from my work. My colleague (Asian appearance) got her meal with chop sticks and mine came with a spoon and fork!

I'd like to take a stand against this blatant profiling but the Thai food is delicious there, across the road and the bloke did get some chop sticks for me, didn't apologise though!

A Chinese person once told me you get more food on a spoon and fork.

Chopsticks are way superior for noodles and also for picking up bits of meat etc. i usually do a spoon at the end with the small bits.

Chopsticks for dumplings way better too, with a fork you need to pierce the thing and it usually falls apart.

Plot twist but I think chopsticks aren't generally used in Thailand so it may actually have been your colleague that was being profiled.

The distinction between humans and animals is arbitrary. Animals have inherent value and rights. Killing an animal for human consumption or exploitation can be considered a form of murder as it involves the intentional taking of an innocent life.

The distinction between humans and animals isn't arbitrary. We treat animals differently in every aspect of our lives - for good reasons. You can't marry an animal. They can't vote. They don't have rights to own property. It boils down to that animals are not capable of understanding the moral, ethical and legal frameworks that guide human behaviour. For example, murder is a human concept that animals have no awareness of.

Humans are omnivores. Meat is a natural part of our diet. Pretty much every country in the world has legislated that eating meat is not murder.

By the way, I should also mention that I do CrossFit.

Well of course animals don't engage with man made legal frameworks - they're not humans. That doesn't mean they lack their own forms of social structures, communication, and even morality. Plenty of different animal species exhibit empathy, cooperation and even grieving.

Obviously you can't marry an animal (although this has actually happened.. ****, I even read about some weirdo that married a car) and they can't vote but these things are human constructs designed for human societies. The fact that animals don't participate in them doesn't diminish their capacity for complex emotions and social interactions.

Humans are omnivores. Meat is a natural part of our diet. Pretty much every country in the world has legislated that eating meat is not murder.

Humans may be omnivores, but humans also have the ability to make ethical choices about their diet. Just because something is 'legal' or 'natural' doesn't mean it's the most ethical choice. The fact that eating meat isn't classified as murder under human law doesn't negate the moral considerations raised about animal rights and welfare. Our treatment of animals reflects our ethical and moral frameworks. As our understanding of animal sentience and intelligence grows, along with the advances in food science which is coming closer and closer to being able to produce plant based alternatives that taste just like the animal version, so does the argument for treating them with greater compassion and respect. It's not about equating animals to humans but about acknowledging their value and right to a life free from unnecessary suffering.
