It's weird - I thought the idea of the shade of red originally plus the yellow was to mirror surf lifesaving caps/flags
I do like the logo though

I do still think the GC Guards (or Guardians) and properly leaning into that was a missed opportunity.

In any event, this feels a bit bolder to me. Ill honestly probably get one of those home jumpers for the collection

The logo is 10/10. Works on websites. Billboards. Merch. Brilliant.

The jumper is 1/10. 1 point for a darker red. But slapping on a logo, any logo - even a 10/10 logo-is shit.

It needs a hoop or a stripe or a yoke. Something anything.

Maybe seeing it in a game situation will change my mind but for now im split as i love the logo and branding but feel they focused on that and neglected jumper

Someone posted this on Twitter last night - guessing they've edited the background, but if the club did the inverse on their home guernsey with a yellow logo on the deep red, it would have stood out more & been a bit more eye-catching




But watching this promo video, it's the sponsors logos that pop, while it looks like GC is simply wearing a solid red kit

I can definitely see why people arent loving it and i assume im in the minority but i just like it. Big bold red with a subtle detail.

It works as being an identifier and being different to the original (Ive posted WAY too much on the jumper clash thread but id like all clubs to have 3 kits, home, away (being white) and clash anyway. GC is basically smashing it for my personal view on kit requirements as they could just do a white EXACTLY like the red with a different shade for the logo.

Anyway, i like the rebrand and the jumper personally but i do completely see why some dont.

They either need to match the jumper and blend or become iconic (eg Fords logo on Geelong kit).

Were better than the NRL and NBL (and most soccer leagues) at least
