We need more Bob Katter screaming out across the halls of parliament and standing up on issues that have nothing to do with his electorate.

He should have been PM, not that stupid redhead slag.

so much this, if we were going to have a gag PM, may as well have gone all the way and not stopped at 'not sure if serious'

That's how I vote.

First greens, then independents, then the weirdos, then the 2 big parties last.

If everybody voted this way the big parties would get a wake up call.
I plan on doing similar to this however I don't put the 2 big parties last, last spot is reserved for Family First, low spots on the Senate are reserved for FF, catholic party, socialist party etc..

People that give the greens any level of support whatsoever. Waste of space.
Curious for your justification here? If a particular party has policies which align with your beliefs I fail to see how it is a waste of space. Frankly their policies hit almost bang on for me...

That attitude pisses me off to no end. The Greens represent me better than the 2 major parties; Labor has utterly betrayed and failed me, they do not represent me, but rather represent pandering to racist bogans. I couldn't bring myself to vote for them.

For me it's the greens or wikileaks or the sex party. The 2 majors can go fk themselves.

I want a revolution where we cut heads off and stuff. When's that happening?

It's coming BALKAN, be patient.

Last night i had a dream that a revolution was coming. This guy from South Africa was rabble raising and yelled "when the std of living here drops 25 points (whatever the hell that means :D) there's going to be riots and a revolution."

And i remembered thinking in my dream that it mean cutting peoples heads off and shit so it's weird that you asked.

Do you live under power lines, or sleep with your head near a microwave, out of interest?

I don't really have an issue with their beliefs, even though I don't subscribe to them as absolutely as they do. I have an issue with this party itself though - they simply act as a hindrance to progress and investment in this country. There are a number of pieces of federal (and state) legislation that they've influenced far too much that I have to deal with every day that demonstrate the perspective they have on things (Federal EPBC Act 1999 for one). The old State Department of Sustainability and Environment (who have no merged with another, which should help) were quite simply a disgrace, as are some Greens-aligned local Councillors around Melbourne..

My view on the Greens has got nothing whatsoever to do with the two major parties. Their weaknesses (of which there are many) shouldn't make the Greens look more appealing, in my opinion. If I had a strong local independent option I might consider voting for them, but as far as I'm aware I do not.

Until another option comes along that is actually set up to govern, there isn't much that can be done. The current political party leaders are a joke, and your view of the Labor party is pretty consistent with my view of the Libs at the moment.

so... is this the wrong place to come and say that i have no idea how to vote?

My daughter said the exact same thing to me last night - as she has absolutely no interest in politics whatsoever other than she can't stand the "stick of fairy floss" as she refers to Julie Bishop. I told her to select some random how to vote from some obscure party and follow their lead but putting labor and liberal down the bottom

I don't care who people vote for, I don't care about policies, but for the love of god, please, PLEASE, don't vote for Abbot. That guy is a ****ing moron who should not be the manager of McDonalds, let alone our countries leader.

Sounds like you do care man. And you're absolutely right, I wouldn't let Tones run a bath.

Unfortunately I think due to the utter incompetency of Julie and Kev along with their ongoing spats we are not going to see that happen. I won't be surprised though once Tony gets in if Malcolm doesn't pop up and challenge at the first whiff of discontent.

He should have done it a year ago. I have a good mate of mine who is Labor through and through, and all his family members work for various unions. His view is he'd prefer Turnbull over both Rudd and Gillard. Quite a strange predicament we're in right now.

I'm not sure that I agree with the incompetency line. Gillard achieved more for Australia in three years than Howard did in ten. What's more she did this against the backdrop of a hung parliament, a largely hostile press, a relentlessly negative opposition and all with the world's biggest financial meltdown since the Great Depression going on in the background. This was not a perfect government by any stretch of the imagination, but in ten years time I think the positives of the Gillard government will be seen as far outweighing the negatives.

How so?

Education reform, NBN, Disability Care, mental health reform, Carbon Pricing, welfare reform v. Two wars, school chaplains, flagpoles and a structural deficit.
I know which I prefer.

Which you've made clear with how selective you've been. There are still massive questions over how effective the NBN, education reform and the carbon tax have been/will be. The other examples you've listed are certainly worthwhile initiatives and very important in their own right. But in doing those things, she also managed to undermine the support of her own party enough to throw her out. Unfortunately, that's how she'll be remembered (fairly or unfairly).

It's still fair superior to the rodent's record. Can you name national building projects stemming from his government?

I totally agree Gough, she was before her time unfortunately and came to power when no-one, let alone a woman was going to escape unscathed in that turbulent period around the GFC and it is unfortunately what contributed to her downfall along with that slimy worm Rudd who just couldn't accept that he wasn't wanted and continued to undermine her at every opportunity. There was also what appeared to be an inordinate amount of backflipping and gaffs that also kept her on the backfoot.

Personally just like with what happened here in WA, I look forward to the Liberals taking power and then proceeding to rip the heart out of the country and breaking promises left right and centre and people whinging about how unfair life is. Sometimes you get what you deserve.

I also look forward to Alannah McTiernan winning the seat of Perth and what she will then bring to Canberra as some may get the surprise of their life if they think she will tow party lines.

That's not really a defence, you made the statement. Howard was voted out in the end because of his stubbornness on a couple of very specific issues. Anything I list you'll probably argue against (industrial relations reforms, GST, sale of Telsta, etc..) and I don't have that much time today! You also list 'two wars' before...you really think we wouldn't have got involved under Labor?
