To be fair the passengers side mirrors don't get used that much at all

I would say when parallel parking and that's about it

They are useful when changing lanes. Although my first car didn't have a passenger wing mirror so I tend to just do a more extensive head check instead.

Related, manual chokes. My first car was a 1983 Mazda 626, I reckon it would have to be one of the last models with a choke.
