Manhunt was more fun. One person was chosen as the "hunted", given a head start, then chased around the school until found and bashed (in a fun lighthearted way). I am unaware if it still exists.
I doubt it. Most schools are way too PC today. I remember play Cops and Robbers and lunchtime where there were 2 cops and about 5 robbers in my group of friends (we switched around) and when you get caught (only had to be touched) you joined the cops until there were no robbers left. Good times

When you were in primary school and, instead of swearing at somebody who annoyed you and risk them telling a teacher, you would call them a "supersonic-idiotic-double headed-disconnected drainpipe."

Well British Bulldog and Brandy were banned when I was in about grade 3 or grade 4 due to their rough like nature.

suck shit

Played it all through primary school.

Pokemon Cards were banned in about a month though.
I feel sorry for the kids who didn't experience that in primary school

Marbles were good at our school. Kick over someones bucket of marbles and yell "MARBLE SPILL"...watch the vultures swoop and steal the loot :)

good times

Did tug of war get banned in other primary schools?
It got banned from our sports carnivals when I was about 5-6 and the rumour running around was that some kid in another school had tied the rope around his hand and his hand was ripped off.

Seems ridiculous but it sounded plausible at the time. Did any other schools get this rumour?

They could never enforce card bans at school.

Never come across it, but that's an awesome insult!

Never ever even thought of playing tug of war at school. How boring

Was all about british bulldog or brandy, i'm not sure we even had rope

Pole-ball was another popular one, like soccer, but with the pole that held up the netball ring as the pole.

Jelly Tip
Big Toff

Anyone from Perth remember Hamburger Haven chain (had one in Beaufort St). Anyone remember red Bull (across from Bassendean Oval). Think it turned into red Rooster.
I thought Red Bull became McDonalds? The one in Jolimont certainly did. I thought it was to do with the McDonalds name being already registered in WA, and when the name became available they converted them. Mind you, I was only about ten at the time so I could well be talking complete crap.

I was about 12. From memory Red Bull was roast beef. I thnk Maccas just bought there locations. I remember no Maccas in Peth until about 1981. I think the first one was in Cinema City on cnr Hay/Barrack. That place was so modern and awesome when it was first built.

Yep, 1981 would be right. I actually don't remember anything at all about Red Bull except (1) I know I went there sometimes; and (2) the RB logo on the ashtrays(!) they had on their tables.

I have also heard that the reason Mcdonalds weren't in WA for so long was that the name was trademarked by a certain Mr Richard Court.

Yeah I remember when Cinema City first opened - really flash at the time and the biggest multi cinema then with 4 (I think). Just about all the cinemas were in the city and there was none of the multiplexes in the suburbs like now. Just drive-ins.
