Bont has to be injured? Was no where near it getting bodied by players half his size.

Darcy was impressive yet again. Could’ve been a huge night if he kicked straight. That ground level goal was something you don’t expect to see from someone 208cm.

We're wasting prime years of Bont, Libba and Treloar. No forward structure to get the best out of Naughton and JUH. Structure is gone, time for a new coach to run a new system. I am still adamant with our strongest team, we are top 4 worthy, but we're just not coached to the best we can do. Better coaches would find a way to fit in Daniel. Gallagher and Bramble needs a run in the twos.

Wasted

What happened to Bont? Dominant first half. Unsighted in the second half. Supposedly had 81% ToG but I honestly can't recall him getting a disposal.
Something definitely wrong with him tonight. Couldn't run fluently and just jogged to contests the further the game went.

I’ve been on the fence, but this seals it. For the health of the club & the health of the man himself, Bevo has to go. He was looking like he was going to have a heart attack in the box tonight (profusely sweating).

As bad as the coaching is, our players are not intelligent footballers. We should have been a good 5-6 goals up at half time if not for butchering chances & also gifting them goals.

It’s a bitter one to cop, having the weakest guys in the comp like McGrath & Kelly strut around like they’re Ali is embarrassing.

Jakey boy has that glint in the eye again, lock up your teen daughters.

It’s what we have become used to.

Disorganised, lack of structure, weak defensive efforts and lack of cohension between the different phases of the game.

At the end of the day this is beveridge’s team this is the team he built and it’s not good enough and doesn’t have the tools to succeed.

English just pull the contract save the $$

Leadership is a major issue in this team there is no on field direction.

Surprising thing tonight was normally no matter how bad we are Essendon are our bunnies.

Said it in the game day thread I’d rather see is completely implode this year than finish 7-12. Coming into the year I thought we’d go one way or the other, after 4 games I thought we were going to be that 7-12 team again, based on tonight with saints and dockers (in Perth) over the next two weeks we could well be 2-5 and heading down. Only issue is we don’t have a first round draft pick

Now we find out how big a ticker has the Pres and the board.
Change must be made before it gets any worse.
This has been coming for a long time.

They didn’t have the guts to pull trigger over preseason let’s see 2nd time round

Surely, surely there can’t be anymore excuses with this club, you’re telling me the players are enjoying being out there and have any respect for the coach anymore, the writing is well and truly on the wall, this season is gone, get rid of him get ahead of it now before he runs us into the ground and we turn into the next north Melbourne

That was awful, two things I want to mention:
  1. Credit to Darcy Parish. Libba fell over late and he seemed genuinely concerned for him. Picked him up and alerted the bench
  2. AFL should investigate the Essendon trainer/physio. Early in the third quarter he stood in the middle of our forward 50 next to two Bulldogs and did not attend an Essendon player. We had the ball and from afar looked like an Essendon defender. Once Essendon won the ball back, he did not see any Essendon player and ran back off. He was also on for an extended time in the second quarter running through the middle of the ground while play was nearby. I thought it was 50

I can't believe he subbed Sanders half way through the third quarter. What does that do other other wreck his confidence? He was having a good game. Gallagher remained a ghost for the game and Baker's total contribution to that point was a couple of out on the fulls...

Then those magnets started spinning out of desperation in that third, it was a pathetic spectacle indeed.

Travis Cloke?

He has already had one please explain from the AFL this season.

It would help if we had a ruckman that could tap it to him or a teammate, instead of having to fight off blokes to get a look at the Sherrin.

Half our problem is our inept ruckman. I couldnt give 2 shits about English's follow up work or disposal around the ground. Just give us first use of the ball, you know, the primary role of a ruckman, and let the mids and runners do the stuff around the ground.

We'll lick our wounds but ultimately it's a long season and we'll need to pick ourselves up and start planning for the Saints next week. The boys will put their arms around each other and take it one week at a time and try to put our best foot forward.

I think you hit all the bullet points.

The trainers positioning stood out for me aswell, surely a please explain from the AFL.

Playing like a bottom 4 side , basic skill execution is woeful. And once again our goal kicking brings us undone
We are a bottom 4 side. Our last 10: losses to GWS, Hawthorn (lol), West Coast (lol), Melbourne, Geelong and Essendon (lol). 1 ok win against Gold Coast in Ballarat and wins against Richmond (trash), Geelong (already on mad monday), West Coast (lol).

We have been a bottom 4 side for close to half a season worth of games.

I think I might watch Below Deck Down Under instead of the game next Thursday. At least that ship isn't sinking.
