What match ups do you think we'll see this week?

Firrito vs Black or Voss
Rawlings vs Akermais or Lappin
Simpson vs Copeland
Harvey vs Hart
Grant vs ???

What do you guys think?

If Laids could choose...:

Rawlings V Lappin
Firrito V Voss
Stevo V Black
M Stevens V Akermanis

I would start Wells on Aker and try and gain the upper hand going our way. Aker will not pay Wells the slightest bit of attention, so we could get an advantage.

We have to take risks. Sitting back and hoping they don't score will result in a run of the mill 10 goal loss, which would be pointless. This game is about education IMO.

Would like to see Harro in there. If Voss starts forward, I would expect Spud to follow.

Yes, last season Voss went forward, and Simpson went with him but was out-muscled at every contest. I think Spud could hold his ground well, and then we wouldn't lose Simpson in the middle.

Rawlings tag Black
Spud tag Voss
Hart tag Harvey
Simpson v Lappin
Grant v Akermanis

Oh and off the midfield for a second,

Colbert on Lynch
L.Brown on J.Brown

Watt would be out musclued every time by both, and Leigh Brown has been awesome at CHB last couple of weeks. This would also give us the oppertunity to see what run Watt could provide of a half back.

Agreed, we have to take the attack to Brisbane... if they are better on the day then so be it. Negativity will only stunt growth.

I think you will find that Colbert is not as strong as Watt and that he would give away a free kick everytime they had a one on one constest. He has a nasty habit of holding on. Not to mention doesn't have the pace.

The dread is shared

Sounds pretty much the matchups I would have. I think Akermanis is the interesting one do we tag him or like you said play someone like Wells on him so it could work the other way, good thought.

I noticed Watt has been left out which leaves a problem down Back L. Brown will certainly play on J. Brown but I am not convinced Colbert will play on Lynch. I know Watt is not some peoples favorite player but I find it confusing that he was dropped for this match because I feel he may have been our best match up for Lynch. Maybe just maybe Laidley might have something up his sleve.

Just a thought....

Why not play our best & most damaging players in the middle, and likewise around the ground (play our best players in their best positions - irrespective of recent form)?

The last 3 week's worth of match ups haven't worked.

Maybe it's time to take a risk - go without the taggers and play to our strength/s - attacking and physical footy.

Play the game on our terms and have a red hot go.

I reckon we could do worse - and back to basics could be worth a punt (even if for 1 quarter)
