Chief my business is on level one of a building that on the ground floor houses most most the rehabilitation of the Pies players ...

The big boss who looks after them is my mate.

Thomas is absolutely fine, remember I told you. In fact only 3 weeks ago he said this. Quote 'dale is shattered that Collingwood has not said a word to him since he re-did his ankle and will certainly move on. All of us are spewing and Buckley does not have the tools to coach this club'...

I have never said anything on this site when serious that is not true.

The Pies will regret this bad.

Interesting info. You were told 3 weeks ago Collingwood hadn't spoken to Daisy since he did his ankle again in August yet 3 weeks ago this article appeared on the Collingwood website. Maybe they were using sign language for the rehab!!!!!!!

Collingwood and Dale Thomas' management are talking as the two parties try to reach a settlement on the star Magpie's football future.

Speculation has suggested the out-of-contract midfielder may turn his back on the Magpies and make a move to Carlton where he will be reunited with former coach Mick Malthouse.

But Thomas – who is recovering from significant ankle surgery – said his negotiations with Collingwood were well on the way.

"It's progressing, the club and my manager have started talking again which is good,'' Thomas told News Limited.

"The club had bigger things to worry about with finals and unfortunately that didn't go as well as planned, but now they can sit down get to the nitty gritty of it all and we'll wait and see.''

Set to become a free agent at season's end, Thomas said he found conjecture about his football future intriguing.

"It is interesting, a lot of people are speculating as to where I'll be,'' he said.

"I'm a Collingwood player as we speak. My manager will speak to the club and hopefully they can flush out everything and that goes to plan.

"With the market and the industry the way it is, free agency has changed the landscape a great deal. I think that's where all the speculation comes from.''

Importantly, the state of his ankle condition is not as a bad as first thought.

"The key was seeking out the opinion of a few specialists,'' Thomas said.

"The reports from them was really good and really uplifting, I suppose. Initially we weren't really sure until we got the scans and saw those specialists, but they advised me to rest and the rest has done the trick.''

Thomas has been diligently attacking his rehab with Magpies medical staff at Collingwood's training base as he seeks to be ready for the start of pre-season.

"I'm planning to be right - and I think most of the physios feel the same - by the first day of pre-season,'' Thomas said.

"That's really positive because I obviously missed virtually the whole preseason last year with the ankle injury so I'm looking forward to getting a full pre-season under my belt.''

You can really see the difference in class between supporter groups at play this free trade period.

Collingwood supporters hope Diasy is a failure and are having temper tantrums that Carlton dare take one of their favourite sons. Then you see Carlton supporters wishing Eddie Betts all the best and understanding why he wanted to move.

Some people really need to get a grip.

No, you need some perspective.

Tell me, how would Carlton supporters respond if say, Murphy, defected to Collingwood for a bigger paycheck??

I'm sure everyone would be 'understanding' and wish him the best. Please.

Making GF's is easy for us, winning them is the hard bit, having a petulant coach when you're going for B2B doesn't help.

Now that we have a coach for doesn't trade all our 1st round picks for rucks and will listen to Hine when he wants to rookie and then draft Kurt Tippett (I hate you Mick). We might actually win those Grand Finals.

Daisy's ankle is in perfectly fine condition

Not sure why I get sucked in by the trolls on either side of this debate. Daisy's ankles are not irrevocably stuffed as some Collingwood posters would have nor are they perfectly fine some Carlton posters would have it. He has a chronic ankle injury that is currently being treated with rest. There have been mixed views re the best method of treatment from various specialists. No medical view is any more than an educated estimate at this stage.

The concerns re the ankle seem the main reason why Collingwood significantly downgraded the contract offer they placed before him. This virtually ensured he was gone once Carlton tabled their offer. It's understandable why Daisy chose to move in this situation.

The ankle remains a risk. It is not until he puts full work into and match stress conditions that the success of his rest and rehab will be known.

Sums it up well.

Based on our experience with his ankle problems, the club put together an offer in alignment with our cap space and with more performance-based components.

Carlton put together a superior offer with longer duration based on their cap space and opinions of the experts whose judgment they trust. It is also a chance for Thomas to get a fresh start and reunite with the coach he started and played his best football under.

If he gets back to his best of close enough to it, he will be a very good get for Carlton, and we can consider ourselves pretty lucky that we look to be getting good compensation for him, especially given you'd think these FA compo picks will be rejigged / phased out entirely at some stage (which would be to the detriment of smaller clubs, unfortunately).

I'd be shitty as would most but he'd setting up his future. I wouldn't be calling for him to "snap acl, make an early comeback then break his neck" or "burn his jumper" like I saw on your own board. Plenty more examples of this behaviour.

Ofcourse Murph wouldn't do that because he loves his coach and our clubs culture which is something Daisy is obviously moving for.

Your clubs culture? He's moving because he loves Mick and $$. No other reason. Don't kid yourself.

CoLOLingwood. Suck it up guys. You can't say he's being overpaid at Carlton and has a dodgy ankle and yet live in Carlton threads for the last few weeks crying like little girls. At least have some dignity and try and hide the hurt FFS. You are all being reamed here. It's hard to watch.

So much wrong with this post I don't know where to begin.

I like what you're doing (trolling Collingwood) but you are make it sound like they are getting absolutely ****ed.

IMO its a fair deal, they get 11 we get Thomas, pretty good deal if you ask me

Agreed. It's a good deal all round. MM got amazing things out of Thomas and he will become one the comps best again. Huge for Blues.
Bucks hasn't and seemingly would never. Pick 11 helps them rebuild.

Thomas was pick number two. Not sure MM can be credited with getting "amazing things" out of him....top five picks are supposed to be able to play football.

I think everything that can be said has been said in this thread.

Time to put a bullet into it.

Daisy's ankle is in perfectly fine condition

5 games this year and multiple failed attempts at returning to senior football for more than a game or 2 in a row this season would indicate this comment is incorrect.

The games he did play on return would definately indicate if Daisy can get his ankle right then he would be worth the money.

When his body is right - Daisy is elite IMO.

Hopefully for Daisy his ankle holds up to the rigors of Senior Football after his rest.

The risk was too great for Collingwood to take - I hope for Daisy's sake it was not too great a risk for Carlton.

Either way he got his massive payday.

Where is Joffa I bet he hasn't stopped crying yet. Sorry my bad, they are all Joffas - that's Collingwood.
