Nah I remember it all thanks to my memory training app.
I call bullshit. Can't be straining to remember shit when you're supposed to be being mindful.

ACEANDY ARRIVES...

In what was a tumultuous off season leading into Season 27, new captain PhenomenalV1 made an immediate impact on the club, informing the divisive WFL and WaynesWorld19, their two busiest posters, their services were no longer required. The move was applauded by many across the competition, however there were concerns as to how the struggling Dragons would cover the loss of their two most prolific posters. Experienced campaigner VSTone also followed suit soon after. So the stage was set, who would be the savior the Dragons so desperately needed? Well, it turns out rookie AceAndy was the answer, and supported by fellow rookie Cold Sober, the two became the most regular contributors at the club in what was a rocky season off field for the Dragons. Week in, week out, Ace fronted up, driving the team forward, both on and off the field, as he quickly established himself as the most recognisable Dragon by a long stretch in S27. He would go on to win the EKA in a canter, and before the season was done he would be elevated to co-captaincy in just his second season at the club.

...PHENOM RETIRES

Having recently taken charge of the club, Phenom made a big splash early in S27, quickly giving controversial posters their marching orders in the off season, as he set to mould the club in his image and wipe the slate clean. Whilst the move was met with a positive response across the competition, it did leave the club very short on contributors and questions were asked of where their activity would come from in S27. A hastily planned logo change that was forced through without consultation of the leadership group, saw the wheels wobble, and the new skipper quickly distanced himself from the move, opting to retain their existing logo in the face of broad criticism. From there, although he was not alone, the skipper faded into obscurity, leaving most of the heavy lifting to solid rookies AceAndy and Cold Sober, only surfacing every other week to make a rare contribution for his team. A good season on the field belied the skipper's lacklustre season off it, and it came as a shock to few that he had lost his desire for the game, when he announced he would retire at season's end. A bizarre tirade panning the competition on his way out, and an awkward orgy of self-celebration at the Dragons BnF the final chapter of the #SuperRookie's time at the Dragons' helm, and perhaps his Sweet FA career.

THE MYTHICAL DRAGONS

Where were the veterans this season? Most opposition sides would be able to remember AceAndy fronting up each week for the Dragons rain, hail or shine... but seriously who was their next best? Despite an experienced list on paper, most weeks it really became a case of Ace vs the Sweet FA, and whilst he acquitted himself admirably and was justly rewarded with not only the EKA, but the captaincy of the club for S27, as Phenom confirmed, one man does not maketh a club. Senior players like Hatchy1992 and Blaze Storm were rarely sighted, and those sightings were fleeting, whilst vice captain Pie 4 Life did not post in a single match thread for Season 27. Posters like AmericanCrow and Ljp86 made their cameos, but again too much was left to too few, and at times the Dragons were plain unplayable. AceAndy has now taken the reigns and deservedly so, and appears to have recruited well, and at this stage of the off season appears to have also rejuvenated the interest of his co-skipper Hatchy and co, and S28's cloud appears to have a silver lining. Only time will tell.

ADORATION OF THE JESUS & HAWKS DOMINATE ALL-SFA

Despite a middling season on the park, the East Side Hawks dominated the headlines throughout S27, with arguably the strongest, most consistent media presence of all clubs in the competition for Season 27. Every week another Hawk was controlling the narrative, from shining a light on some of the biggest scandals of the season (team sheet errors, Vegas All-SFA rorts, the McEvoy/Caz fiasco) to providing some of the more obscure statistical offerings, the big name Hawks were everywhere. A breakout season by S25 rookie The Jesus saw him elevated to a level above in S27, a season rewarded with a first time beez trophy win, arguably the competition's greatest honour, with teammates NaturalDisaster and Loonerty both enjoying top 10 finishes. Having claimed a dominant 6 positions in the TIFmedia rolling All-SFA side in what was a strong prelude to the official side, the Hawks capped off their massive season off the field with a competition-equalling 4 selections in the All-SFA, with S27 recruit NaturalDisaster joining teammates por_please_ya, The Jesus and Agent93 in the side, with the popular skipper claiming the prestigious All-SFA captaincy for S27.

K1fm8re.png

FILTHY DEFECTS & THE HALF BACK VANISHES

Despite boasting one of the strongest lists in the competition, the Hawks suffered a huge loss over the off season leading into Season 27, with former admin, two time beez trophy winner, 200 game player and Hall of Famer The Filth Wizard choosing to leave the club and execute a coup over fumbler and the leadership of the Gold City Royals. Losing the big full forward was a loss many teams would not be able to cover, however an even, strong list led by Agent93 and an experienced leadership group behind him steadied the ship. Filthy's loss was further compounded by the sudden disappearance of the reigning TFLUA-Tiger medallist The Half Back, who after a barnstorming S26 faded away into the wilderness as the season grew on. New Hawks recruit NaturalDisaster toiled manfully to fill the confrontational hole left by Halfy, even picking up a well deserved Terry Tough Campaigner Award, but the bravado fell short of the same dizzying heights of THB's puffed up machismo that had been his brand in S26. To add insult to injury, Halfy returned late in the season, only to quit the club altogether and will line up for the fledgling Furies in S28.

EJ6MVdN.png

EAST SIDE OUT OF THE FINALS HUNT

Sitting inside the eight at the completion of Round 15, the Hawks, joined by the Furies and the Wonders, were all sitting on 6 wins with just percentage separating them. Despite a road trip to Vegas to take on the Bears, they had the easiest fixture of the 3 teams, with the other two scheduled to take on two top four sides to qualify for a finals berth. It was the Hawks spot to lose... and lose they did. Never in it, the Bears opened up a handy 5 goal margin up to half time at the Stadium in the Sky and from there they were never headed. A misfiring Golumless (2.5) rubbing salt in the wounds, as down the other end, Its Manbearpig was having a day out, finishing with a bag of 7 goals. As if this wasn't enough, despite the Furies and Wonders both losing their matches, it was an unlikely Baghdad Bombers, who pulled of a last gasp 4 point win against the wooden spoon Roys, to leapfrog their way from 11th into 8th position, earning their way into an Elimination Final at the expense of the Hawks. Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of what was otherwise a season of celebration at Waverley, the disappointment was compounded by the fact that despite having multiple team sheet errors, squad and free agency mismanagement among other antics, the Bombers escaped any punishment for their blatant rule flaunting, which would have seen the Hawks retain their place in the eight and into a finals campaign they were bitterly disappointed to miss.

TIF, is "ugly" ugly because it has a semi-colon in the middle of it for some reason?
It's clearly punctuated by this, yes.

REBRAND & RENEWED LEADERSHIP

The Furies undertook a drastic rebrand heading into S27, cutting their obvious ties to their beginnings as a vehicle for almost exclusively ex-Richmond folk, as they set about distinguishing themselves as a club in their own image, in their own right. Removing any Richmond iconography from their makeup, the Furies forged a new identity free of ties to their past, and reinventing themselves as a destination club for all comers. Going hand in hand with the rebrand was a renewed leadership team at the S26 Grand Finalists, with young vice skipper TJASTA taking the reigns, strongly supported by his deputy, the firebrand Fury Ned_Flanders (formerly rfctiger74). Together the odd couple formed an unlikely but successful partnership, providing the Furies with a solid foundation for the future of the club.

K1fm8re.png

LOSS OF NATURALDISASTER - TOO LITTLE, LEFT TO TOO FEW

You had to have been living under a rock to have missed the tension at the club all season long in S26, with an ugly player revolt being played out publicly against their skipper. Experienced players openly and loudly called for the captain NaturalDisaster to leave the club, displaying dissent and disdain at every given opportunity. In spite of the toxic environment within the club, they still made their way right through to the big dance, where they ultimately succumbed to a rampant Demons in what was a dirty day for the club and one they'd rather forget. In the aftermath, the players got their wish, with ND making his way to the Hawks with the blessing of his club. Enter S27, and while the club presented a fair more harmonious front, the loss of NaturalDisaster, when coupled with perhaps a lack of shared focus, and the Furies struggled for regular contributors beyond the leaders and the lively, ecclectic Tigerturbulance. Rookie Carson Dial did come on in leaps and bounds in the second half of the season, adding some much needed support for the Furies both on and off the field.

FURIES FIGHT, FAIL TO MAKE FINALS

Having suffered a heavy defeat in the S26 decider, the Furies did some soul searching in the off season, having also lost their skipper albeit by choice, as they set about erasing the loss from their collective memory and tackling the new season with a renewed vigour on the back of a rebrand and a new leader. Unfortunately the wheels never went back on to be able fall off, as the hapless Furies began the season winning just one of their first six games, including an 81 point drubbing at the hands of Mount Buller in the Grand Final rematch in round 3, consigning rookie captain TJASTA to a horror start to his captaincy. From here they never recovered despite fighting their way back through S27, missing the finals and finishing 10th overall.

THE FILTH WIZARD & MCEVOY JOIN THE FOLD

Despite the less than savoury process with which it occurred, getting an SFA legend like The Filth Wizard over from the Hawks to assume the leadership for S27 was a strong move for an already considerably strong playing contingent at the Golden Throne. Bringing additional top end talent along for the ride, Filthy quickly assumed control and led from the front during an indifferent year for the Gold City outfit that saw them bundled out in the first week of the finals. In another recruitment coup, the Royals were the major benefactor of the Bombers ill-fated decision to recruit the divisive CazC30 to their club. With the move confirmed, McEvoy took her opportunity to leave Baghdad and exercise her free agency options, suiting up for the Royals the very next game and was one of the recruits of the season. After a strong S27 with the Royals, McEvoy looks set to enjoy yet another season at the Golden Throne in S28, and has been a contributing player in their S28 recruitment drive.

K1fm8re.png

GREAT ON PAPER...

But poor in practice, the Royals promised to be one of the more enticing match ups in Season 27, with a list jam packed full of with EKA, Mobbs & beez medallists, boasting talent the likes of which have seldom been seen. Unfortunately when it came to the season proper the Royals failed to deliver on that promise. Many of the Gold City greats were barely sighted in a lacklustre Season 27 at the Golden Throne, with the competition worse for not enjoying a strong contribution from the Royals in S27. While some weeks may have seen more engagement than others, the consensus across the competition was the Royals failed to live up to the hype in Season 27.

BIt5EZb.png

FUMBLER FIASCO

Whether it was all play for the cameras or otherwise, the coup led by The Filth Wizard definitely appeared to catch S26 skipper fumbler off guard, as the former admin took over the reigns at the club and brought with him his right hand man Noobz0r. Whilst a strong move for the club, and fumbler did eventually stay on with Gold City despite the overthrow, the optics weren't great and it could have got a lot more ugly had it been allowed to fester.

BRAB TAKES A BACK SEAT, HAYDO & BARRYBRAN JOIN THE CLAY

After a 2nd place finish in the beez in S26, BRAB appeared to be taking a noticeably less active approach in early S27, after an all out recruitment assault on opposition inboxes where no player was safe. Enter haydo. The West Coast Wonder was delisted by the club in Round 1, with the club giving their blessing for the veteran to make his way through to the House of Gumby, which saw him line up for the Gumbies the very next week for their Round 2 clash. An important pick up, haydo stepped in as defacto captain almost immediately, and looked to fill the void left by a low key BRAB. In another boon for the battling outfit, Bears S26 EKA winner Barrybran joined the club as a free agent during the official trade period, in a move that was met with suspicion and some felt flaunted the free agency rules as they stood. But none of that mattered to Baz or the Gumbies, and any grumbling was soon forgotten as Baz and haydo joined forces to bring the club back from the brink, with a new look Gumbies looking to be heading places after a top 4 finish and a rejuvenated, engaged list.

K1fm8re.png

OUT IN STRAIGHT SETS

Having finished the season in third place, the Gumbies were full of confidence and looked set to cruise deep into the S27 finals. vice captain haydo was in sensational form, Bear Barrybran had joined the club to provide further stability, and they had the advantage of a game up their sleeve as they headed to Van Cortlandt Park to take on the Warriors for the second time in as many weeks, having dispatched them by 7 points at home in Round 15. It wasn't to be however, with the 2nd placed Warriors delivering a heavy 33 point defeat. Licking their wounds, the Gumbies set themselves for home semi final against the plucky Las Vegas Bears. In what became a disaster in front of their adoring home fans, the Gumbies were put to the sword by a rampant young Bears side, as the Bears ran over a flat Gumbies team in the second half, outscouring the hosts 9 goals to one solitary major as they continued on their way through to an unlikely Grand Final berth. For the Gumbies, they suffered the ignominy of being the only side to bow out in straight sets for Season 27.

UNCLE LEO AIRS DIRTY LAUNDRY, WANTS OUT

Before a single ball had been bounced in Season 27, Gumbies senior player and soon to be cult figure Uncle_Leo urged skipper BRAB to stand down, as he attempted to lead a player revolt against their enigmatic leader. Believing even he could do a better job of recruitment and engagement, the ill fated effort came about largely due to Uncle_Leo's disgust with BRAB's shameless and to that point, fruitless recruitment attempts. What played out was a public airing of dirty laundry, as BRAB and Uncle_Leo played out their disagreement over the club's direction in full public view. History will show that perhaps BRAB did have plans underway behind the scenes, and an ill-informed Leo seemed to lack any real support or awareness of the behind the scenes machinations. The ugly fiasco played out to it's conclusion at season's end, with a desperate to leave Leo finally walking out on the club and bizarrely joining the Bears for Season 28.

This is such a bizarre post and isn't close to what happened at all.

Feel free to correct me. What really happened?

Stop Beez whoring 10 minutes into the season and get your facts straight.
Please. It's all there in his thread, if there's more to it feel free to elaborate. Fact is, he called you out rightly or wrongly, it was public, he stayed disgruntled, asked to be delisted and wasn't, and has since left for the Bears. Not sure which part of that is wrong? That's established fact.
