Our full forward kicked 6.3.
I'm happy for you, but you embarrassed yourself.
Meh. I get a cup and a medal. You get the memories of choking a 5 goal lead. I'll take my predicament over yours every day :)

Only thing I choked on was a particularly asymmetrical morsel of Chud, of which I had 8 cups. As you can imagine, memories are few and far between on the back of that.

BACK TO BACK MINOR PREMIERS

After an all-conquering Season 26 that saw them not only finish minor premiers, but going on to win the flag in a record breaking Grand Final, the Demons juggernaut rolled into Season 27 fancied by most to go back to back in a canter. After a barnstorming start that saw them go undefeated through the first month of Qooty, they would go on to lose just another 4 games, equalling their S26 record of 12 wins as they blitzed the field once again to finish minor premiers once again in S27, and set themselves up perfectly for a title defence with 2 precious home finals at the Snow Dome. Led by skipper Yakker and well served by FRED medallist Tarkyn_24, complimented by fellow All-SFA teammates ruckman manangatang and gun defender Headless to name just a few of the stars at Mount Buller, the premiership defence looked a fait accompli.

FINALS CAMPAIGN FALLS SHORT

After looking unstoppable throughout periods of S27, the Demons finished minor premiers and stormed into a finals campaign on the back of yet another rout of the Furies. After a thrilling 1 point win over fellow top 4 side the Swamprats in week 1 they secured a home Prelim final, and after a week off expectation was building at Mount Buller as they awaited their opponent. Enter the Last Vegas Bears, who after finishing 7th in the home and away season, had to do it the hard way, making their way into the Prelim by bundling out a fading Gumbies outfit in straight sets, with a comfortable and confidence building 10 goal hiding of the fast fading Gumbies. Still, the Demons were expected to win comfortably and cruise into a second straight Grand Final appearance. A scandal broke the week of the game, with the Bears being penalised for a teamsheet error, seeing them carry a 2 goal penalty into the game, with many feeling that would all but guarantee a Demons victory, After a 10 goal to 5 first half, the Dees went into the major break in preservation mode, and Mount Buller fans were already jumping online to secure their tickets for the decider. The Bears came out firing in the second half, catching the Demons napping, as they piled on 8 goals to the Demons' 2 in the premiership quarter, as they not only wrestled back control of the game, but they would go on to outscore the Demons 12 goals to 3 in the second half, overcoming the penalty and cruising their way to a win for the ages and a berth in the Season 27 Grand Final, as the underachieving Mount Buller outift were left to wonder about what could have been.

FRED MEDALLIST FAILS TO FIRE

One of the most surprising aspects of the Demons' capitulation at the hands of the Bears with the cup within their grasp, was the performance of their misfiring spearhead, S27 Fred Medallist Tarkyn_24. After managing 74 majors and winning his 3rd Fred Medal with daylight, as well as earning a berth at full forward in the All-SFA side, Tarks was looking in career best form heading into an all important Prelim, having kicked four goals, including the sealer in the Qualifying final in week 1 of the finals. But the HOFer had a day he would rather forget, as despite beating his direct opponent MWPP and managing 8 scoring shots, he misfired badly, kicking 3.5 including two consecutive behinds with a chance to put the Bears away in the crucial 3rd quarter with the Dees in control and up by 4 goals, and late in the game when he had 2 of the last 3 Demons' shots on goal only to miss and have the second rushed, which ended up the last score of the day. With the opposition key forwards managing 9.2 between them to add insult to injury. He was not alone, but despite a fantastic Fred winning season, Tarks struggled with the conditions on the day and missed a golden opportunity to kick the Dees into a Grand Final, and as most believed, a back to back premiership victory.

ROYS REMAIN UNITED

Despite a horror season on the park, the unity at Brunswick Junction Oval was palpable, as the close knit Roys remained as tight ever throughout the rollercoaster ride that was Season 27 for fitzroybowiedog 's charges. With a fantastic club culture led by the father of qooty, Mobbs, superstar Broken, young leader TedDougChris and the enigmatic Dyson Roy Lacy, the Roys move to the beat of their own drum. From poker nights, to multi-posting awards, to the Bespoke Roycognition Barrel award, the BJO club rooms remained a hive of activity despite all their struggles on the qooty field. A popular group who play up to their reputation and wear it like a badge of honour, the eclectic mix of unique characters at BJO clearly enjoy each other's company immensely and it appears to be just a matter of time before it all clicks and they find their groove again out on the field.

K1fm8re.png

BROKEN DOWN

In one of the most shocking decisions in recent times, runner up in the club best and fairest Broken Medal bearing his name, S27 All-SFA rep and Hall of Famer Broken quietly left the club at the completion of S27, to a distinct lack of fanfare. For reasons unknown and unclear, the league legend has seen fit to step away from the competition for Season 28. While there doesn't appear to be any bad blood or issue between player and club, his delisting has left a massive hole at BJO that is not likely to be filled any time soon. The strong club culture will hold the club in good stead, but the reality is no club could simply absorb that kind of loss on the eve of a new season. Time will tell as to whether the champion makes his way back to BJO or whether his hiatus will continue beyond S28.

ROYS' JOYLESS SEASON ENDS IN SPOON

After going through the first month of qooty winless, the struggling Roys broke through for their first win of the season against the equally fledgling Furies who were nursing a helluva grand final hangover. A mid season rally saw them chalk up further wins against the Wonders (Rd 7) and Dragons (RD 10), but a heavy defeat at the hands of an in form Warriors outfit in Rd 11 looked set to derail the Roys' fightback. However a ruthless 71 point shellacking of the Gold City Royals pointed to the Roys rallying in the second half of the season, but it wasn't to be. The battling Roys would go on to lose their next four matches to close out Season 27, consigning them to the bottom of the ladder at 11-4-1 and an outright claim to the wooden spoon, their first since S16.

Holy crap - a media piece which actually gets to the Roys !!!!
Completion of a Top Twelve is a much more reliable wager than that of a Top Ten.

SIN CITY SUCCESS

After falling one game short of a grand final appearance in S26, where they succumbed to the eventual premiers Mount Buller, the Swamprats set themselves to go one better and give themselves a shot at the flag in S27. Led by first year captain Far Kern, and with a star studded midfield of reigning Mobbs medallist Ant Bear, S26 All-SFA rep philreich and second year star Nunez, not to mention young full forward SarahSmiles and their eclectic ruckman sportsmaniac89 to name a few, the Rats possessed the star power to place them firmly among the top fancied teams in Season 27. After going 50% at 4-4 at the midway point of the season, the Rats were sitting mid table and looked to be making up the numbers, as despite some individual brilliance, they were yet to hit their straps. A charmed run from Rds 11-15 saw them string together a run of 5 straight wins as they dispatched the top 2 teams, the Demons and the Warriors, as well as the finals bound Bears. This streak saw them qualify in the top four for the finals series, where they booked themselves an away trip to Mount Buller to take on the minor premier Demons. An agonising 1 point loss 132-133, left them licking their wounds, as they regrouped and prepared for a home semi final against a plucky Baghdad Bombers outfit. After wining their way through to the prelim with a 105-91 result, they set themselves to go one better than S26, but the in form Warriors on their home turf stood between them and a grand final berth. After jumping the Coney Island side in the first quarter with the first 3 goals of the match, they would go on to hold that lead right until the final whistle, as they would make their way to the S27 decider, to take on the even more unlikely grand finalists, the Las Vegas Bears. In what was a see-sawing contest, the Rats powerful forward line saw SarahSmiles and sataris combine for 8 goals between them, while veteran philreich would go on to win a much deserved Deestroy Medal, as the Swampies would hold on for a famous 99-96 victory over the courageous Bears, their first since S6, seeing Far Kern lift the cup as the Swamprats proved themselves worthy premiers in Season 27.

K1fm8re.png

NOW AND THEN NUNEZ

Enjoying an amazing individual season on the qooty field, the S26 rookie sensation conquered the competition in what was a remarkable performance for a second year player, as he beat all comers to win his first Mobbs Medal with 23 votes, making it two in a row for the Sin City outfit, and joining club champions Ant Bear, Noobz0r and MannumPower. While his qooty was peerless in S27, his league presence was well down on his impressive debut season, and was rarely sighted throughout Season 27 as the firebrand Swampie shunned the media and only made sporadic visits to the club outside of game day. The rats would be hoping that S28 not only sees their star mid maintain his rich vein of form, but sees him rediscover his mojo.

BIt5EZb.png

LEAVING LAS VEGAS

Shortly after securing the premiership, former captain and incoming admin Ant Bear made his intentions clear, as he put himself up for tender to the highest bidder, as he informed the Swampies their services were no longer required. After 180 games at the rats, AB was seeking a change of scenery and declared mission accomplished at Sin City, as he looked for a new home. Synonymous with the Swampies, the move shocked many, especially so hot on the heels of their flag win, and the method took many by surprise with just how mercenary it was in it's approach. Ant Bear ended up walking out on the Swamprats as planned, with the Wonders securing his services, where he joins fellow league stalwarts Dingster & ClarkeM as he looks to write the next chapter of his illustrious career.

VETERAN TURNS BACK THE CLOCK

With the State of Origin concept back on the table, posters from across the competition began to throw their support behind it, as team threads started to bob up, and sign ups began in earnest, despite no official confirmation coming from Cloud_ and Sweet FA House. While the concept was resoundingly met with approval, one voice spoke louder than rest. ClarkeM lobbied tirelessly for the concept, and was a big driving force behind ensuring the concept was revived, and most would say the series was a raging success. Clarkey carried this enthusiasm into S27, as he continued to be a vocal presence across the media landscape, and many weighed in on many of the contentious issues that arose during a tumultuous season. He also enjoyed a strong season on the qooty field, floating between forward roles and the midfield. His clever Pokemon inspired thread was timed to perfection with beez voting in full swing, and resulted in an unlikely top 20 finish for the Wonders veteran.

K1fm8re.png

ARROGANCE LOST

After a middling season both on and off the field, the walking resume himself okeydoke7 would have made his S27 diary entry a short one. Having finished runner up in S26 to eventual Fred Medallist BigJoeD_ of the Warriors, okey struggled in front of the sticks in S27. Perhaps spooked by the prospect of his nemesis Tarkyn_24 resuming hostilities at full forward, possibly part connection with his midfield, whatever the cause, a 9th placed finish in the goalkicking wouldn't have been part of the plan. Having spent the last two seasons at the Wonders, it perhaps came as no surprise that the big fella, with his history of switching clubs as often as some forwards switch boots, began to get itchy feet. Despite not flagging his interest to leave publicly, in a departure from the norm, privately, okey was up for grabs. An unlikely shift to the Gumbies was announced shortly after the completion of S27, after discussions with Gumbies co-captain and former Wonders teammate haydo. haydo himself was another veteran lost to the Wonders in S27, after a round 1 exit saw him leave the club looking for greater opportunities and greater leadership exposure with the fledgling club. Both losses will be keenly felt heading into S28.

BIt5EZb.png

SEVENTH ELEVENTH WONDERS

After a season of shameless self promotion in S26 that resulted in an embarrassing straight sets exit in the finals, the Wonders were looking to improve on the disappointing result and arrest their finals slump in S27. Full forward okeydoke7 was coming off a Fred Medal runner up season up front, they boasted an impressive ruck division of U2tigers, Elton Johns Wig and skipper Dingster, as well as arguably the best fullback in the game, SSwans2011. After a big win in round 3 looked set to kick start their season, the Wonders just couldn't string wins together. Consecutive losses to Mount Buller and the Bombers followed, with a win against eventual premiers looking like getting their season back on track, only to lose the following week to the eventual wooden spooners the Roys. In a rollercoaster ride of a season, when the Wonders lost, they lost big, while their wins were generally narrow, dour affairs. Yet the Wonders were still in finals contention as late as the final game of the season, where a heartbreaking 105-109 loss to the Gumbies sealed their fate, as they would go on to finish 11th, just one and a half games ahead of the last placed Roys. With the ignominy of possessing the worst attack the competition (avg 90.19 points per game), the Wonders finished with the lowest percentage in the competition in S27, leaving themselves open to the familiar cry of #lolWonders. Season 28 sees them looking for redemption, as they will once again be striving to be #firsttosix.

Thanks. Pokémon thread and the beez thing was entirely coincidental - there was no desire to do this thread to achieve beez votes.

People read or at least have seen my media over the past decade. I have no intention to be popular in the league through means of a beez voting system.

What the fu** is a beez?
