He is a concern. He just disappears from games altogether far too often.

He has ability though and he looks like he could become quality but I worry that he maybe becoming a Seedsman like tease. The thing is.......we need his type.

Pull your finger out Broomy before it's all too late!!!
Same could've been said for Didak. It wasn't until 2006 that he became elite.

I want Broomy to succeed as a player because he is exactly what we need in the side. He's got that little bit of X factor that we lack sometimes. He just hasn't put on any size because of his dietary habits (was said in an interview he didn't eat vegetables) and I think it's severely hurting his chances because the boy can play.
Can you find that interview? Interesting that he doesn't eat vegetables.

How can we make a judgement on a guy that we haven't had the chance to really see.
Injuries have denied any of us an opportunity to make any judgement on him. Not as severe but he is in the same boat as Shazza. Very hard to make a judgement with the limited opportunities we have had to observe.
I will say one thing though. From the little I have seen I wouldn't be writing him off. Actually I will go one step further and say once he has 60-70 games under his belt, then we will see just how good he is.

I agree that he has class but just looks too small.
Isn't he about the same height as Luke Ball. Shouldn't be a reason not to succeed at AFL footy. Just needs to get over all the injuries he has had and get a good run at it to build up his confidence. Has lightening pace and good hand and foot skills. Brings a lot to the table as we lack that small crumbing forward who we can rotate through the centre (fewer interchanges allowed this year) and we don't know if Swan will go on next year.

Agree it's too early to make a call on Broomy. He has tools what level of AFL player they transfer to is the question. I believe he can at least be serviceable at this level but faces the problem of Collingwood having a lot of depth currently in the positions he can play. His cause wasn't helped over the summer by us gaining Howe, Treloar and Aish who would all appear to go immediately above him in the pecking order.

His position is similar to Karnezis last year where you would like to see him get a run at it to see if he can make the grade but there doesn't appear an obvious spot in the team for him unless we suffer injuries. Howe and Eliotts injuries may give him some games early, if so he needs to really grasp that chance.

Very young. He will make it and when he does he will be a game changer. Gun. Future top 5 player on the list.
Someone must have hacked TG's BF account. If I am reading this correctly this is a positive post about Collingwood and the club's/player's future.

Completely agree with you though.

He has a skill set we need in the team, don't think he will go anywhere from collingwoods view point only will if he wants to leave.
At the end of 2016 if he doesn't have a spot cemented in the 22 he will have itchy feet and COllingwood would almost certainly shop him and see what we can get. It all really hangs on him making 2016 a good season with a lot of best 22 footy.

Small players only get so many seasons without having made it.

It's more his light frame that concerns me.

That is true of most mids/hf that have similar skill sets to others but Broomhead has tools we lack so I can see him getting longer, also he needs more time in the gym to get his body AFL ready.

Listed as 184cm and 82kg so not so light anymore. Does probably need to be pushing 85kg but that will come.

On the OP. kid had a quiet game down at the cattery (10 disposals) but racked up 20+ possies in the intra-club match. Think his issue will be finding the necessary consistency. Clearly has the class so time is on his side.

I am optimistic about him. I didn't notice allot of him at Geelong but I don't think I saw him too much out of the half forward area. Their is only so much you can do playing as a small forward to get touches

May well get longer especially if he shows a bit at time but maybe goes to the 2nds because of selection dilemmas rather than form. Needs to show a bit during the year to remain safe

One worry I do have with him is the last 2 seasons has had full pre seasons but was really poor in the NAB last year and didn't shine on Fri night. Would like to see a sense of urgency from him at this tiem of the year. They are easier games than the full season and he should be shining a bit more.

The Broom needs an extended run at it.
Agree. I like him.

Are we prepared for the initial pain of trying to get another 50 games into him so he gets to that critical level of experience?

Same goes for Shazberg (forgot how to spell it) Cox, DeGoey, Marsh and any other player with less than 20 games experience

It's why our window is not open yet and unlikely to be open until 2018.

GWS are a case in point

Had a few runs on the wing but hard to influence the game from there when Witts is shoving the ball down De Goey's and Sidebottom's throats who are then driving it deep into the F50.

He is the forward version of Jackson Ramsay. Has shown talent at times but desperately needs to build on his frame and cement a place in the seniors to see what he can become.

Trouble with this theory is getting these guys 50 games on also means Swan gone, Trav gone or in twilight, Pendles veteran and diminshed output, Reid Brown Varcoe veterans.

For all the ones you bring up others are tipping out the other end. Of the 5 you named only one looks a pretty certain top player, De Goey. If we dont contend at all until 2018 and beyond we will do it without a lot of our current A graders being around or if they are around they will no longer be the players they were.
