He needs a bit of freakin luck with the injuries, that's for sure.

Same could've been said for Didak. It wasn't until 2006 that he became elite. He is a concern. He just disappears from games altogether far too often.
He has ability though and he looks like he could become quality but I worry that he maybe becoming a Seedsman like tease. The thing is.......we need his type.
Pull your finger out Broomy before it's all too late!!!
Can you find that interview? Interesting that he doesn't eat vegetables.I want Broomy to succeed as a player because he is exactly what we need in the side. He's got that little bit of X factor that we lack sometimes. He just hasn't put on any size because of his dietary habits (was said in an interview he didn't eat vegetables) and I think it's severely hurting his chances because the boy can play.
Great post, would read again 100%
YesI don't have time to read the whole post. Can somebody break it down for me?
Isn't he about the same height as Luke Ball. Shouldn't be a reason not to succeed at AFL footy. Just needs to get over all the injuries he has had and get a good run at it to build up his confidence. Has lightening pace and good hand and foot skills. Brings a lot to the table as we lack that small crumbing forward who we can rotate through the centre (fewer interchanges allowed this year) and we don't know if Swan will go on next year.I agree that he has class but just looks too small.
Agree it's too early to make a call on Broomy. He has tools what level of AFL player they transfer to is the question. I believe he can at least be serviceable at this level but faces the problem of Collingwood having a lot of depth currently in the positions he can play. His cause wasn't helped over the summer by us gaining Howe, Treloar and Aish who would all appear to go immediately above him in the pecking order.Isn't he about the same height as Luke Ball. Someone must have hacked TG's BF account. If I am reading this correctly this is a positive post about Collingwood and the club's/player's future.Very young. He will make it and when he does he will be a game changer. Gun. Future top 5 player on the list.
At the end of 2016 if he doesn't have a spot cemented in the 22 he will have itchy feet and COllingwood would almost certainly shop him and see what we can get. It all really hangs on him making 2016 a good season with a lot of best 22 footy. He has a skill set we need in the team, don't think he will go anywhere from collingwoods view point only will if he wants to leave.

Small players only get so many seasons without having made it.
It's more his light frame that concerns me.
Listed as 184cm and 82kg so not so light anymore. Does probably need to be pushing 85kg but that will come.
On the OP. kid had a quiet game down at the cattery (10 disposals) but racked up 20+ possies in the intra-club match. Think his issue will be finding the necessary consistency. Clearly has the class so time is on his side.
May well get longer especially if he shows a bit at time but maybe goes to the 2nds because of selection dilemmas rather than form. Needs to show a bit during the year to remain safeThat is true of most mids/hf that have similar skill sets to others but Broomhead has tools we lack so I can see him getting longer, also he needs more time in the gym to get his body AFL ready.
Agree. I like him.The Broom needs an extended run at it.
I am optimistic about him. I didn't notice allot of him at Geelong but I don't think I saw him too much out of the half forward area. Their is only so much you can do playing as a small forward to get touches
Trouble with this theory is getting these guys 50 games on also means Swan gone, Trav gone or in twilight, Pendles veteran and diminshed output, Reid Brown Varcoe veterans.Agree. I like him.
Are we prepared for the initial pain of trying to get another 50 games into him so he gets to that critical level of experience?
Same goes for Shazberg (forgot how to spell it) Cox, DeGoey, Marsh and any other player with less than 20 games experience
It's why our window is not open yet and unlikely to be open until 2018.
GWS are a case in point
