They had a reason to be ropable. Their club out of good will helped Dangerfield to Geelong

Hopefully other clubs remember Geelong's pea heart in regards to Tim Kelly if they are a destination in the future

I find this narrative soooooooooo boring.

Freo will enter the negotiations if Kelly wants to go there.

The reality is if the best we can/are willing offer is 14 and 22 or 14 and a future pick or something along those lines then Freo don't have to blow that out of the water. It's in Freo's best interests to get the trade done for the least amount possible. However that looks.
Can you see a situation where Kelly nominates only Freo? Tbh at best I can see him saying "Freo, but only if a deal with Eagles can't be done", in which case Geelong will only negotiate with Freo if their offer is better than Eagles'.

I wouldn't have thought so, esp why Freo don't have a coach. Strikes me a slightly amateurish the way they handled Ross Lyon's departure.

Freo's administration blunders (or so it seems here in Melbourne) will continue to be a deterrent to attracting players. Also for the 2nd year in a row an A Grader Wants out (Hill)

I just see no appeal for Telly to join Freo, even for a buckleload of cash.

I would imagine that once Geelong's season is over (i.e. 2-4 weeks time) he will meet with Geelong (standard protocol) and then if a trade is wanted meet with WC and Freo, after which he will make a request (or not) to Geelong to join one of the clubs. That's usually the order the dominoes fall.

um I dont know, Possibly go home to live with his family.

Hell Possibly help freo to move up the ladder

Again, Both WA clubs will be hesitant on trading 2 1st round picks on kelly.

Pick 6 and the 2020 2nd rounder might be enough.

Hell, there are rumours Freo will work around the trade.

Possibly offer Ed Langdon and pick 5 to get Demons pick 2.

Then use that pick 2 to give to GWS for their picks of 11 and 12.

then use those 11 and 12th picks to hand you for tim kelly

Rumours*...

As for the trade, it makes no sense what so ever. Freo giving up pick 5 and Langdon via Melbourne and GWS, for Kelly. Why does Freo need to deal with Geelong if we get pick two, for good karma???

It means we lose Langdon for a 3 pick upgrade in a draft where "everyone knows" picks 3 to 14 are basically the same!

*Bigfooty talk for someone posted it here...

Or just go to a side in contention from day 1 and play out the rest of his career there competing at the top.

He could waste 3 or 4 years waiting for Freo to be competing for a flag.

Be careful, Geelong will also qualify for the "2nd year in a row an A grader wants out" if T. Kelly again requests a trade.

It's the new world, players move more these days.

To borrow a Lyonism "it's never as bad as it seems". It sounds to me that they had Lyon's cards marked for a number of weeks but couldn't possibly act while he was still in finals contention. Agree the Neale situation looks horrible though. BHill doesn't bother me anywhere near as much.

true...

but this is freo.

The dockers want to keep Brad hill to help us go up the ladder.

It doesnt make sense to trade brad hill for a speculative pick.

Contracted or not Hill and Kelly aren't really comparable. Kelly was drafted to Geelong and has almost completed his draft contract. Hill was drafted to Hawthorn, re-signed with Hawthorn at least once (not sure how long he signed for after his initial 2 years), requested to be traded to Freo under contract, and is now requesting to be traded elsewhere under contract.

Geelong will be disappointed if Kelly wants to leave, Freo and Hawthorn should be annoyed that Hill wants to move under contract again.

I'm sure Freo hate that you think it was amaturish. Infact, rumours are that they wished they had their time over again just so they can change your opinion!

Here is a list of better than good players that wanted out last seasons;

Lachie Neale, Brad Hill, Jesse Hogan, Rory Lobb, Dylan Shiel, Tim Kelly, Steven May, Jack Steven, Dayne Beams, Tom Lynch, Chad Wingard, Jarrad Polec, Scott Lycett and Dan Hannebery.

There was also a bunch of average players that wanted out too, but you know that as Carlton took a heap of them!

But yes, everyone wants out of Freo 🥴

And I think your Freo Admin blah, blah, blah is a load of spunk. Id be happy if you could prove me wrong!
