As a side point, I think Neale could have played the same year at Freo in 2019 and wouldn't get All Australian. His trade to a barnstorming rising team put his name at front and center.

His comment about ''Not being all about one guy in there'' or w/e it was, I thought was quite telling.
Doesn't take a genius to work out who he was talking about and it's not surprising he flourished after stepping out of his shadow to be the main guy himself.

Fyfe has himself mentioned that he needs to not ''try and do it all'' and just enjoy his footy a little more.

When he was asked about him coming in and making a huge difference, when he tried to deflect the attention off himself by saying the rest of his lions midfield pull their weight?

Man I hate this narrative, Neale was just as good if not better at Freo then he's been at Brisbane per just about every statistical measure. He is just getting more recognition because Brisbane are the feel good story and getting plenty of attention over East. He literally broke the all time disposal record and couldnt get in the AA team

Neale has been in the news because he was a high profile recruit in the off season and his team is winning and he started the season with a couple of huge games. He polled 10, 20, 14, 11 Brownlow votes the last 4 years and won the B&F 2 of the last 3 before leaving. Can play.

Pending other moves I think it will benefit both parties long term. Freo needed talls and were better performed this year without Neale anyway. Brisbane got an established star who turned into what they'd hope Beams would be.

I wasn't implying that Neale has suddenly become a better player at Brisbane. I was implying prehaps he feels he has a little more freedom away from Freo game plan and Captain Fyfe being the big dog, it's just a thought as i cannot know for sure obvisiously.

Do you think he'd be still home sick if SOS offered him Cogs $$$

Except Lachie refuted that comment publicly as soon as he possibly could including stating that Fyfey attended his wedding so he would hardly throw him under the bus.

I hope you can see the difference - no point continuing the discussion otherwise.

Spare me the shit. You would rather take a chance on two kids over a 25yo coming off an AA season, why, because they will be 23 and coming into their 'golden years' when Kelly is 30.

What's the age demographic of the group. If what people are saying and we are 3 years away from finals, who would you rather have, two 21yos or Tim Kelly?

My ardent hope is that Tim re-signs with the Cats. If he goes to the Eagles and they pay through the nose that is another good option.
Freo, after trading Langdon and Hill could end up with 3 picks in top 15 - 20. I want them to spend that on young WA talent.

Maybe. I think he’s improved this season, it could be opportunity based and the game style they play but he’s been a key contributor in their top 2 finish this season. I’ve watched a lot of Freo in the past, I’m based in Perth and a West Coast supporting mate and I share a Docker’s membership so we can go watch footy and drink beer with a couple of our Freo supporting mates.

If he played the exact same for Freo this season, do you think Freo would have finished 2nd?

If WC played Geelong in Perth instead of Geelong you could probably say the same thing. It's a tight comp.

Hmm.. perhaps. I think there's plenty to suggest Geelong would've accounted for West Coast at Optus Stadium given the way the Cats were playing at the start of the season and given West Coast capitulated against Port at home the week before.

Probably not. I think if Kelly played for West Coast this season I think Geelong wouldn't have finished top though and West Coast would've finished top 4.

Exactly, the team around him helps!

Freo supporters know exactly how good Lachie is, it's just those 'know it alls' on the east coast are now noticing because he is the best player in a good team playing exciting football!

In 2016 he had a record breaking year and was clearly the best player in a shit team, and yet he couldn't make the AA team!

Could be 2 years but Freo are like Port A solid at home and bit of cannon fodder away, going to take high end picks and time for a coach to teach new game plan to be in a premiership contention.
With Freo I think it's just list age. Their kids are starring to get to the point of having played a few games together now. Not sure they need to add much but losing players isn't ideal. New coach changes things but Kelly would be long odds to nominate them

Tell Elmer_Judd that Freo defeated GWS and Collingwood away, and had quite a few close loses. In some of those games they actually played well too.
