You should know all other 17 club don't care what you think, they will do trade with you because of what you can offer not what you said.

I'm not discussing what other clubs care about.
My comment was reasoning why Kelly chose west coast and not Fremantle.

Try and keep up

Isn't the reason why already posted numerous time and on AFL website , keep nagging is still the same why? Just because you why is a direct copy of what his player manager said, it is still the same content.

No, but something personal about Fremantle has put Kelly offside that has influenced his decision making. Maybe we could convince him, all above board of course, that those issues are now cleared for him to reassess his decision. Would you begrudge him if he changed his mind?

Only if we had made significant list decisions on the basis of him coming. ie we had traded someone out for picks only to be left standing alone at the altar. As it is we have delisted Masten which would have nothing to do with Kelly.

People choose where they want to work - Shock horror.

Nathan Wilson straight out said he hated the Eagles.

In the end who cares why a player does or does not want to play for certain clubs? If Tim Kelly could be convinced to agree to be traded to Freo, all power to him as I am sure he is making the best decision for his family.

Nic Nat is the top Dog mate, there is no player worthy of being traded that can hold a candle to him. When he is up and about he is sublime.

Won a flag without him, he's done two ACLs and he turns 30 early next season. If Geelong thought they had the midfield to win a flag without Kelly's input and goals I'd do that trade, NicNat is easily the best tap ruckman in the league. As good as he is, his biggest value to WCE is merchandise and memberships, imo, he's lost a bit of his lustre not being a premiership player.

I threw this at my WCE supporting work colleagues at the start of the season, to a man, they almost all cried.

Why is Tim Kelly the only player in history who isn’t allowed to nominate a club?

I still haven’t seen any explanations that haven’t been drenched in hypocracy.
Not to mention the out of contract part. When it’s an Adelaide player out of contract all you hear in the media is Adelaide have to accept any trade or they’ll lose them for nothing. Heavily lead by Damian barrett mind you

This says otherwise.
The journalist used those words, not Wells. Wells said they'd be looking for a lot for Kelly without specifying anything. One of the hosts asked it 'a lot' means two picks in the top ten and Wells replied that would be 'terrific' but noted nobody currently has that (I know, Gold Coast does, but that's irrelevant here).

This says otherwise.

He was being wry. Just saying 'gee that would be terrific!.' From my understanding, the expectation is one top 10 pick (Carlton 9 for example) and your 14, with something going back (industry standard). Doubt he expects twice what Brad Hill is going for. He's not an idiot...like Scott, lol.

I suppose the strangest part is that Geelong are trying to trick fans into thinking that he has requested a trade to the State of Western Australia, when he hasn’t. And that he has told them that West Coast is merely a preference, rather than his single request.

Just so strange when you can read Kelly’s Manager’s statement and know exactly what he said.

Strangest thing is, they actually believe it.... and use this argument to justify the behaviour of Chris Scott and his ilk.

They wouldn’t believe it. They know what he said. They have managed to trick a few fans but everyone else can read what Kelly said and know that it’s completely false.

Then you got nothing to worried about, the more you said nobody believe it the more it show you are desperate to get the deal done as soon as possible just wait until the end of trade period and see who give in.

I have a feeling that this affair will go right down to the last 15 minutes of the trading period with Eagles and Cats at loggerheads and ready to punch on.

At that point Peter Bell, like Alexander the Great on his mighty warhorse Bucephalus, will come charging through the ranks and pluck Kelly from between the implacable foes and deliver him to Cockburn for pick 7 and 20 something.

Last 15 minute, Geelong take pick 7 and run better than getting nothing and send him to draft.

Hypothetically if Kelly went to the draft is he allowed to say that he will only agree to play for West Coast?
What are the rules on players choice once it comes to this?

Hypothetically, that’s the definition of draft tampering

Clear draft tampering, but the situations where a club decided to draft them anyway are quite rare. Cannot think of any examples other than Nick Stevens where a player that went to the draft did not end up where they wanted to be in the first place.

There are literally only 2 other clear examples - Ball and Camporeale, haha. This is a decade ago. Just doesn't happen anymore.

I'm expecting Bell to offer 2 second rounders. If cats refuse, he'll take him in draft on pick 7, but won't trade that pick for Kelly. have no idea yet about Bell's trade offer patterns :drunk:. This will all come back over time though, like Dodoro copping it lately on many trades.
Yeah Bell will offer 2 second rounders when the Eagles will have already offered more. What on earth are you talking about?

Exactly. So there’s no harm in Freo helping him reassess his choice.

Agreed. That’s all that matters in the end.
