Tim Paine caught in sexting scandal, resigns as Test Captain

Please, it's not the world's fault he sent a dick pic to a woman. Believe it or not, I've made it this far in life without ever sending an unsolicited dick pick, groping a woman, racially abusing someone etc. Being held to account for sh*t behaviour isn't a problem, sh*t behaviour is the problem. And where people are genuinely sorry for past poor behaviour, people are generally forgiving and move on. Stop trying to people doing sh*t things as victims.
Be pretty sure 10 of his team mates would be shitting themselves.

Yep they’d be hoping that incident that happened in primary school all those years ago doesn’t raise its ugly head.

The world has gone completely mad with every little thing in anyones life which had previously been investigated now getting dragged up again.

Feel sorry for Tim and I see The West has gone hard and early calling him a disgraced former captain already…

So essentially, if a guys sleeps with his underage female student, he should be lynched but if a female teacher sleeps with her underaged male student, it should be all sweet because context?
No, both get charged with sexual activity with a minor. Ffs mate, there's examples of teachers of both sexes being charged and jailed for that, that it shouldn't need explaining to you.

Cricket Australia and Cricket Tasmania investigated, both said he had nothing to answer for. That was 4 years ago. Media get hold of it and all of a sudden he is the worst guy in the world for doing something that young people frequently do.

The world is not a better place, in fact it could not be in a worse spot than it is now. Everyone is to scared to speak in case someone gets offended. Mental health, anxiety and depression are spreading like a plague. How is it better?
The amount of people too scared to speak in case someone gets offended would be next to zero.

The amount of people who stop before they say something and think 'Oh that might make this person feel bad or uncomfortable' and then choose not to say it for that reason is higher than it used to be.

That sounds like a better world to me.

I'd also point out that no one is saying Tim Paine is the worst person in the world. People are calling him an idiot for doing something idiotic.

Also, has anything else happened since around March last year that could be contributing to those mental health issues in society?

If you don't think Tim Paine has done anything wrong then fine. I completely disagree with that but whatever. Your extrapolations though in this post and previous ones seem bizzare.

That will be his tag in the press for some time, I would think 😟

Kind of tangential and not that related to your overall point, but I think while less physically intimidating than it is for women, I do think men are more (or at least as) vulnerable to psychological damage from sexual harassment since most peers and support network subscribe to the view that all men want sex and sexual attention 100% of the time so there is often little to no sympathy for male victims of sexual harassment.

True also. We're more prone to 'cop it sweet' than to complain.

Why do I have a horrible feeling Finch will be drafted in as an emergency replacement captain?
Captain has to be someone who fields close in, has a keen grasp of the game and can contribute with a score - come on down Maxi.

Can't wait for the moment Maxi decides to tell Smithy to train harder on his craft ;)

I know, maybe re-read the quoted posted which was claiming sexual harassment/assault should be treated different based on the sex of the perpetrator.

That's not what I said.

I said it's a lot easier for a bloke to make a woman feel afraid or uncomfortable with unwanted sexual advances, than it is for a woman make a bloke feel afraid with the same.

Feel free to argue that isn't the case, but it is, and if you do think differently (and have acted on it) odds are you might have creeped a few women out over the years.
