That's fine. If we get fair value, we'll let him move on. If not, we'll hold him to contract and he'll return to the club like the professional that he is.That may well be true!
However “IF” the eagles promised to look after Barrass at the time of signing the contract that’s on the eagles. It would also explain why Barrass wants to leave now.
But he's contracted, and will happily come back to us, so I don't really care much for a bloke on 600 a year who feels like he should be getting 800.Why didn’t the eagles look after Tom like they promised? If you had done this, he wouldn’t be looking for a new club.
You take his bonus off him and still expect Tom to feel wanted by your club please get a grip!

It's not a problem the common man is ever going to have much sympathy for.
That would be a great outcome for us, so I hope it happens.Keep him. Make him happy.
Unfortunately, his draft capital has the square root of **** all to do with what we pay him.If his only worth 600,000 a year then a first and second round pick for a 30 year old sound sweet.
You can’t talk about not getting on the park when Barrass hasn’t ever played a full season of more than what 19/20 games? Lewis has played out of the last 3 years, 2 of 15. Similar and comparable to Barrass, yet years younger.Lewis is not better than Barrass, he cant even get on the park lmao.
The young guys are not in their prime yet, do you think you have 15 legit A-graders on your list or something?
Barrass is currently in his prime, and playing very good footy.
Im not talking about growth or potential. Current ability.
If you had to pick a team to represent Earth vs aliens in footy, Barrass would be higher on the list than all your young kids.
Read my posts properly. I said we should assume a finish around the same as the competition is super tight (2 wins between 3rd and 10th last year) and each team is a few key injuries/luck away from rising or falling. So we should assume you and Carlton will finish bottom 6, even though you are adding 2 elite players in the position you were weakest in, and you are both top 6 favourites?
That makes a heap of sense, thanks for clearing it up.
Very good KPD, elite is a stretch based off 2024, could get back to it but not entirely guaranteed.Elite KPD
Under contract
Premiership window
The onus is on Hawthorn to make this work
Barrass is fairly comfortably in your top 5 though, which was the original comment. He'd be your best defender, and I'd put him in your top 3 overall behind Day and Moore. You can’t talk about not getting on the park when Barrass hasn’t ever played a full season of more than what 19/20 games? He was also on track to get 50+ goals in two of those seasons in a bottom 4 team with bottom 2-4 supply.
Barrass is at the backend of his prime and may get back to his best if he can continue to manage himself and playing in a good side, but he’s no longer in the middle of his prime. Those young guys I mentioned could explode next year and some had big years this year, whilst Barrass did not and could slide more, who knows. It’s a guessing game considering his back and issues, hence why his worth is also less.
Current ability yes but also irrelevant to 2025 which is a future season.
Ahah what…
Why should we assume that though? What advantage do Eagles get be being naive?Read my posts properly. I said we should assume a finish around the same as the competition is super tight (2 wins between 3rd and 10th last year) and each team is a few key injuries/luck away from rising or falling.
Hence the pick 12 and 14 in my initial post, which got subsumed with having to explain why it is clearly not a fact (and is actually very unlikely) that either pick blows out to 20, and an almost statistical impossibility that both do.
All the work? Barrass explored his options as much as Hawthorn worked with him.Exactly, so why did you guys do all this work on Barrass and then offer something that was unders for what we value him at, and then instead of improving, tank the deal?
If you're going to make promises over a candle light dinner, you should have a reasonable idea of what you're getting into, it's genuinely amateur.
Unfortunately, his draft capital has the square root of **** all to do with what we pay him.
Pay up or not, I don't care, but acting like a whiny small time club ain't doing much for your reputation.
He is in the top 10 comfortably, maybe in the 5 maybe not.Barrass is fairly comfortably in your top 5 though, which was the original comment. He'd be your best defender, and I'd put him in your top 3 overall behind Day and Moore.
Well, the management group gave you a serve, so clearly you blokes stuffed up.All the work? Barrass explored his options as much as Hawthorn worked with him.
It is at value to what he is in the market, you don’t overpay to what the club wants, dumb dealing.
Promises
Quite comfortably yes to both.He is in the top 10 comfortably, maybe in the 5 maybe not.
He isn’t better than Sicily, don’t be stupid.
He’s also not better than Newcombe.
I don't care how much you pay him, never said I did.How much we pay Tom has **** all to do with how we compensate the eagles then, works both ways.
Barrass was made a promise the eagles should honor it one way or the other. Especially if you want a productive and happy player at your club!
To be able to cope with what will ultimately be a fair trade of F1 and F2.Why should we assume that though? What advantage do Eagles get be being naive?
That would be a great outcome for us, so I hope it happens.
Like we have been?If you value Tom at two first round draft picks, why don’t the eagles honor their commitment to him?
Clearly he took the eagles at there word they would look after him and signed the contract in good faith.
Robbo. To be able to cope with what will ultimately be a fair trade of F1 and F2.
Fir what it's worth I think that's overs abd so do many Hawks supporters. He's nit even in Robbos top 50.
I don't care how much you pay him, never said I did.
We value him at 2 future firsts, or a 14 and a 2nd, but you blew up option 2 out of some misplaced ego trip, now you only have one option.
Cool story champ, he'll be playing for his contracted amount next year if Hawks don't pay up.Ironic eagles fans say to Hawks you made a promise to Barrass pay up.
Hawk fans amused as Barrass the premiership eagle was made promised by the eagles which they refuse to honour. Eagles owe Barrass more than Hawks do at this stage!
Anyone who thinks Barrass is better than Sicily belongs in a mental asylum.Quite comfortably yes to both.
