Now that nearly everyone that understands football has come around to my way of thinking on this guy, his halo effect well and truly shattered, I think my next target needs to be revealed.

Connor Rozee. We should trade him.
Let's get rid of your first target before we start on the next one.

Yep 26 coming into his prime pants a lot of elite rucks this year ..

Another year working with butters JHF Connor..

That's the best midfield right there

I just don't see it.. He does not have any of the elite traits that the best ruck man have.

Good hitout ruckman with a decent tank, that's about it.

His ceiling is like Jarrod Witts, which is still pretty good

1/ JHF - barring injuries & motivation, on track to become one of the best players in the competition.

2/ Butters - hasn’t reached his ceiling yet, already a star.

3/ Berry - there’s a lot to like about this kid, I rate him very highly.

4/ Evans - absolute gun, destined for AA honours, & leadership role.

5/ Bergman - found some consistency last season, expecting further improvement next year.

6/ Georgiades - clearly our best forward, a 70 goal season is not beyond him.

7/ Walsh - yet to debut, raw, but he’s got some tools that’s going to take him places.

8/ Dante - great kid & fierce competitor. 2026 could be his year.

9/ Whitlock - Tall, athletic, good hands, nice kicking action for a big man, has ambition & drive to succeed…like him.

10/ Moraes - I still have doubts on his decision making & disposal efficiency, but everything else is a massive tick.

Okay so like a top five ruck then? Witts has been in the top five rucks for the last 6 years. We genuinely don't need much more than what we got out of Sweet last year, it would be nice if he was a better marking threat but he excels in the same way Dixon did he doesn't get out marked very often.

Visentini is where our hopes lay for the complete ruck in the future. As good as sweet at the tap, better tackles and ground ball, stronger mark and a better kick. Vis should play at least ten games next year, up forward as a third tall and a couple of games as the number one when Sweet inevitably gets sore.

Ten?

1. JHF - still young, will be a beast.
2. Butters - rule changes seem to be going his body types way.
3. Evans - sterling start, surely room for improvement.
4. Burgoyne - gets better every week.
5. Luko - if the hype has any value, then there is a lot of untapped potential.
6. Georgiades - starting to find his feet.
7. Zerk-Thatcher - if that standard becomes consistent over more than one season.
8. Rozee - hasn't got anywhere near his promise yet.

1. JHF
2. Butters
3. Rozee
4. Georgiades
5. Bergman
6. Burgoyne
7. Evans
8. Lukosius
9. Sinn
10. Berry

Money on Jed McEntee for Brownlow next year.......

Bergman & Logan Evans will probably go up in the absence of Houston.

Georgiades is the big one for me. Can he go to the next level now Charlie is gone and he becomes our best tall forward?
He was already out best forward this year...the question moreso is if he can maintain it this year without Dixon taking some of the focus

The highest level they could 'possibly' achieve, is different from the reality. Rozee is the most talented player we have, easily, but he just hasn't been able to turn that into dominating the competition as he should. Thus he goes at 1, but his actual performance is far lower.

1. Rozee
2. JHF
3. Butters
4. Bergman
5. Berry
6. Georgiades
7. Wines
8. Burgoyne
9. SPP
10. Drew

How would I rate them right now:
1. Butters
2. JHF
3. Aliir
4. Rozee
5. Drew
6. Bergman
7. Georgiades
8. BZT
9. Wines
10. Burgoyne

Where do I hope we'll be in 5 years:
1. JHF
2. Butters
3. Berry
4. Georgiades
5. Rozee
6. Bergman
7. Whitlock
8. Burgoyne
9. New CHB
10. Visentini

We'll agree to disagree. Rozee has far more potential. He just isn't delivering and I don't think he ever will. He's one of those genetically blessed individuals, everything is easy for him, he just needs to start being able to do it when it is tough.

Anyone excluding Rozee (or placing him 10th) is just being petty.

You would be hard-pressed to argue that he could end his career with 3/4 AA jumpers, and even go close to winning a brownlow under the right circumstances

Based on that, it's hard to place him anywhere but top 3 in a list like this. Unless you seriously think guys like Burgoyne or Evans have a higher potential than that

Can I get your thoughts on Wines and Jonas? Or are we only potting the pretty boy captains?

1. JHF - should end up our best AFL player ever
then a decent gap

2. Rozee - Not sure hes reached his ceiling. looks a class above but didnt have his best year
3. Butters - had a couple of great years but needs a stellar finals series
4. Georgiades - could be anything.. could be the ace in our forward line if he takes off, should be his forward line next year
5. Bergman - our best defender, most reliable hands.. cant trust his kick tho

then another decent gap

6. Jones - has all the physical attributes, confidence player drops one easy mark and ya might as well take him off. love him to have a breakout year
7. Burgoyne - improved fitness and attitude and he has reaped the rewards.. his kick worries me
8. Evans - if he improves next year we might have found our Houston replacement
9. Marshall - has so much potential but is so soft.. put dixons mongrels in him and he could be a superstar
10. Luko - talented like marshall, plays like marshall again if only he had dixons mongrel.
10.1 Lord - has the mongrel that others lack, was that finals game a fluke? has no dixon now so id love to see him win a permanent spot.
10.2 Finlayson - another with all the attributes, tough life off the field, can be almost the best player in the comp one week and the worse 7 days later.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better example of recency bias. Back to back AA before injury derailed his season last year. Youngest captain in the league also. And people on here not putting him in their top 10 hahaha

Those not rating Rozee top 3 have NFI
It depends on what you rate.

Port members have a habit of rating players who play at their best in the big moments and the big games.

Evans and Burgoyne have already shown a greater potential to do that IMO.

Based on peak ability rather than the gap to their full potential

1. Horne-Francis
2. Butters
3. Rozee
4. Burgoyne
5. Lukosius
6. Georgiades
7. Visintini
8. Berry
9. Moraes
10. Bergman
