Top 3 forward lines (personel) going into 2006?

i would have to say essendon, not being biased but when you look at our clearances for the year, we had 38% clearences for the years which is second last in the comp but we were still 5th in scoring, it just shows you how good and efficient the foward line is.

the the user above me mark johnson kiked 29 goals not 22

Is there anyone that doesn't throw 1 or 2 of their best midfielders into their 'forward' line to make it looks better?

And by gee, Collingwood's forward line really does suck. All their smalls are hacks, and Rocca and Tarrant are perennial underachievers. If anyone thinks they are even in the top 8, let alone top 3, they are sadly deluded.

Carlton's forward line is quite good when the ball is kicked to them properly (which is a rare and hapy event ;)).

Agree, was a pretty rare event in 2005. But when they did get delivery (e.g. win over the Weagles in the pre-season GF), they messed up the opposition defenders pretty badly – Fev missed a few, but still kicked 8 on Glassy, Whitnall destroyed Hunter. And that was without Waite and Fisher who were both injured at the time. Fun to watch. At least the potential’s there. If the talented young Blue midfielders (Simpson, Carazzo, Bentick, Walker, Russell, Murphy, Blackwell), can get some delivery, we may be in for a few repeat performances. Huge potential. :)

It was just horrible to see in 2005 how our delivery just died in the bottom. Will that get edited out? Nick Stevens conversion feel dramatically, as the pressure of being ina crap midfield killed his concentration or something. Kouta's passing has never been that good, and Campo, well he was banished to the back line to stop him mucking up this sort of stuff.

Bentick tried, but only had a few good games, whilst Russell (1 game) and Walker need to really slow down before trying to pass. Unless those two mature very fast it will be more of the same. Some protection . shepherding would be useful too.

Id go:

St Kilda
Melbourne (when Neitz pulls his finger out and Miller plays)
Sydney (when they play fast rather than behind the ball)

Richmond fans, I know what you're saying, but how much did it suck without Brown? You just didnt have that midsized player to make it click - just a tall moron, a tall retiree and a few speedies. Brown makes that team click - hope he can come back to footy.

The Weagles have one of the best midfields in the comp at present. Their problem isn’t midfield delivery. The problem is lack of conversion because of a complete absence of any quality KP forwards. Another not-so-talked-about problem is the Weagles “high profile” midfielders sloppy delivery into the forward line – they have a tendency to bomb and hope. Something that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet. :)

I think that was more an adjustment to the game plan then sloppy delivery as when Lynchy hit a rough spot the ball was being turned over easily and not getting into a dangerous position. So we started bombing it long and putting it in the hot spot.

youve got to be smoking something pretty ********ing strong to think the swans have one of the top 2 forward lines

Collingwood are definitely in the Top 3.

HF: Nathan Buckley - Travis Cloke - Chris Tarrant
F: Alan Didak - Anthony Rocca - Blake Caracella

Sean Rusling, Leon Davis, Josh Fraser, Scott Burns, Brodie Holland will all spend some time in the forward line too.

You have an effortless ability to contradict yourself unknowingly and basically ruin any chance of credibility in this forum, plus you support Carlton. :thumbsu:

I think they mean that they have excellent personnel in their forward line but their game plan dosent utilise it as well as they can
Your right there mate they do have excellent personnel in there forward line and they often dont use it as effectively as other teams but to say they are deffinately not top 3 forward lines in the comp is just stupid

St. Kilda (Riewoldt, Gehrig, Koschitzke, Milne, X. Clarke, R. Clarke)
Fremantle (Pavlich, McPharlin, Medhurst, Farmer, Longmuir, Black)
Collingwood (Tarrant, Rocca, T. Cloke, Buckley, Rusling, Caracella)

Unusual selection.

Most would put Saints at 2nd, Freo at 10th and Pies at 13th. :)

Name a team who has a better forward line than sydney.......other than saints........

fremantle, collingwood have good foward lines even if their team sucks, bulldogs are good with 2385 pts For in the home and away season compared to the swans massive 1974 pts. Melbourne have a good Forward line even tho it is ageing it still has stars and not to be bias port has a decent foward line in tredrea dew wanganeen and motlop coming into the side for next season.

Geelong:

D. Johnson Scarlett Hunt
Milburn Harley Egan

oh, wait... you guys were talking about FORWARD lines?

sorry, This was the only way I would be able to get a Geelong mention without getting laughed at. Eagles fans should probably admit that as well.
