Joel Corey would be highest on the leaderboard for the Cats so far. Others from Geelong to poll would be Jnr, Bartel.. Maybe Kelly, Chapman.. even Stokes and Scarlett.

Cooney will take some catching already. He could have attracted votes in every match except the Richmond game thus far, with 3 likely BOG's and a couple of 2 or 1 vote games as well. Is also a proven vote winner in the past. Having a magnificent season.

Cooney would be in front of cross for us. Been really consistent and damaging, running and kicking goals. Crossy get a lot of the ball but handballs a lot - may go under the umps notice.

Richo could already have 8-10 votes by Round 6, depends how much they favour winning teams in close matches.

Round 1: 5 goals, 11 marks, 15 possessions in a winning team

Round 4: 4 goals, 15 marks, 25 possessions in a winning team (BOG)

Round 5: 3 goals, 9 marks, 19 possessions in a draw

Round 6: 4 goals, 13 marks, 27 possessions in a close loss (BOG)

Has a 33 year old ever won a Brownlow before, Richo would at least be on 8 by now, 2 definate BOG's and another 2 games in which he should poll.

18.3 Disposals, 10.2 Marks, 3.2 goals average per game so far in the 6 games.

GO RICHO MAN!!!

Although the most votes will be likely given to Geelong because they seem likely to win the most games at this point along with Hawthorn I think the problem for both teams is that votes will be dilluted between too many players for any 1 player to win. I can only see Ablett winning from Geelong with 6 or 7 stellar performances like last year.

I think Black is in with a great shot this year and I think he already has around 8-10 votes to build on in the next 16 games. Brent Harvey is also a big mover again. I think the eventual winner will be someone that hasn't emerged yet however.

No. Kevin Murray was regarded as a freak when he won it at the age of 31 in 1969. Nathan Buckley was only a month or so younger. Richo would be 2 years, 3 months older than Murray.

Richo has definate 2 BOG's and is paying 301 dollars for the win! Loving his new role, he will get 30+ possies and 4 goals in a game by seasons end!

If you're having a bet, there's a pretty foolproof template that has been evident for the last 15 years. Its probably been the template forever actually but has been very prominent in the last 15 years if you look at the records...

Just look for a class midfielder from a side you think will be around the top 4. I think either Ablett, Bartel or Mitchell will win it. Black should have at least 6 votes by now and would be a chance if the Lions get on a roll in the 2nd half of the year.

The mathematical advantage that guys like Ablett and Bartel get from sharing the 6 votes on a winning side nearly every week is just too great IMO. I agree that Richo will be up there for now, but can he keep going as the long season takes it toll on the Tigers?

A friend was telling me that Vladamir has instructed the umps to look more at the KP players. If that's true a guy like Franklin might come into it I suppose but as winners like Harvey, Aker, Black, Bartel, Goodes etc can attest, there's no substitute for being a class midfielder in a top side.

Not BOG yesterday. Was awesome but BOG was Hodge/Roughead.
