heres my opinion

1 Nathan Buckley
2 James Hird
3 Michael Voss
4 Robert Harvey
5 Simon Black

Nathan Buckley coz the guy averages over 25 possesion a game, averages more ranking points than any of the others in the herald sun, most consistent, fantastic ball winner, can kick a goal, ABSOLUTE CHAMPION

Oh of course you would have the Blood Smearer at the top of your list.
Everyone with a brain would have voss and Hird ahead of him.

Good, but would put Judd in instead of Black

ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz....

Collingwood fans trying to clutch to SOMETHING due to lack of premierships in the last 10 years..

Harvey for sure

Judd's only played half those years so I wouldn't have him in there. Ricciuto would would be pushing hard for a spot, as would McCleod, Cousins and Scott West, if on consistency if nothing more.

If Mark Ricciuto had the exact same career for Collingwood, Carlton or Essendon he might just get the kudos he deserves from the wider football public.

I guess he'll just have to cry himself to sleep with his Brownlow, 8 All-Australian Guernseys, 3 Club Champion Awards and pair of Premiership Medallions :(

All top players. Obviously I'm biased, but I reckon Ricciuto would give at least Harvey and Black a nudge in that top 5.

I'd have to agree with Ricciuto although its not an easy call is it? Black and Harvey are very hard to leave out given their decorated careers....

I can leave Carey out because he was basically only good (great) for 4 of those 11 years and the same with Judd. No argument that Judd will be there with those guys, perhaps even better, by the end of his career but on the whole 11 years from 1996-2006 I'd say...

1 Voss
2 Hird
3 Buckley
4 Ricciuto
5 Harvey/Black dead heat (I'll sit on the fence)

Is he winning another one this year?

Semantics, yeah he wasn't actually there on the day.

He was leading the Brownlow by 4 votes at Round 15 when his groin gave out and he struggled to Round 22 before pulling the pin prior to finals.

Contributed as much as anyone to the Premiership that year - and deserved it more than Clay Sampson or BoC ever did.

Have you seen the film Clueless ?
I suspect your a fan.

top 3 in no particular order:

Buckley
Hird
Voss
Riccuito
Harvey

And to those suggesting Black from the BL's, I have always rated Nigel Lappin a better player regardless of the fact that he has no Brownlow or NM.
Second only to Voss in the Fab Four (Five if you include Luke Power) imo.

1. Wayne Carey
2. Michael Voss
3. Nathan Buckley
4. James Hird
5. Chris Judd

Buckley is above Hird solely because of his consistency and the fact that Hird has been injured often since 1996. In my opinion, you could probably swap that five around multiple times depending on the criteria.
