Depends on your definition of toughness, though.. different players are renowned for different things.

Wilson is without a doubt the most physically intimidating in our team, if not in the entire league, not just because of his huge size, but because of the way he plays. Put simply, he completely ignores defenders dropping in front of him, and continues on his lead as if they aren't there. If the league had more hard at it guys like him, it would be a hell of a lot more entertaining.

In terms of toughest for the eagles, though, I'd probably go with Jakovich. The man does not feel pain. He played most of the season with a shoulder which kept on dislocating, and at one point it quite visibly popped out on camera, he went off the ground for a few minutes, had it popped back in, and came back out and played as if nothing had happened. The boundary rider was like 'well, must have just been a bad strain...' except it wasn't.

In terms of nastiest, Quinten Lynch. When you're running around trying to rough people up in your first two games of AFL ever, there must be something wierd going on in your head.

Other up and coming tough nuts in the eagles are Read, Kerr, Humm (ok, so noone except WC will even have heard of him) and everyone's favorite psychopath.. Adam HUnttttttttaaaaaaaaaaAA!!!!!!!! Crack your head against a guy considerably bigger, leave him to be stretchered off, and play on with a egg the size of Eddie Maguire's ego on your head, as if nothing had happened. Seriously, I saw Hunter when the eagles got back to WA after that final, and his eye socket was completely swollen shut- icky stuff.

Would have to be out of Bicks and Roo. Both don't show any pain are hard at the body while still going for the ball.
Good call & that Carey bloke isn't exactly soft either...

After Bickley's single minded effort against Darryl Wakelin, I'm amazed any Crow supporter would have the nerve to write such a bare faced lie as we see above.

Plenty of hard nuts at Port, Asgardian, I don't think you need to slip in a sniper like Hardwick. You rate him ahead of Tredrea?

This is just my opinion Cyclops, but I reckon the history between Hardwick and Collingwood, blinds Pie supporters to Hardwick's true game and worth.

Not a criticism, coz Bickley will always be a talentless thug in my eyes. All footy supporters view players and their antics based on the jumper they are currently wearing. Essendon and now Port supporters think Hardwick is great, Crow supporters think Bickley is great, Melbourne supporters think Michael Long is the anti-christ. You get my drift.

Regarding Tredrea, yes, he is a very strong, very large solid body on the footy field, very hard to beat one-on-one, but he does not run through people, he does not use his strength to hurt or intimidate. This will stop him from being as good as Carey.

If Tredrea started taking angry pills, like Jonathan Brown, he would be an even greater competitor

Still bitter I see - at least Bickley's act was a reckless accident (& he copped what was coming without whinging) unlike some of the thugs Port Adelaide have produced over the years - ala Dave Granger.

Sorry Kane, but after viewing the incident lots of times in slow motion, and normal speed, there was nothing accidental or reckless in Bickley's actions.
His vision was focussed on Wakelin, his direction never veered off course, the forearm was raised to such a height, and position, that the only possible outcome was contact to Wakelin's face.

Claims of recklessness and accidental are just window dressing, designed to protect the admittedly wonderful career Bickley had prior to this incident.

I know no Crow supporters will agree, so be it

There is no doubt Bickley intended to make contact with Wakelin - but he did not deliberately make contact with Wakelin's face (ie. would of been going for a hit to the body) - hence he was reckless in his actions - & copped the penalty. We will agree to disagree.

Take your pick out of the whole Brisbane side.

Players like:
- Michael Voss
- Jonathon Brown
- Chris Scott
- Brad Scott
- Justin Leppitsch
- Alastair Lynch

This list could go forever, out of those players I'd choose Michael Voss he's got everything. Very tough.

Thankyou for helping with my grammar buddy. I feel you are really helping me with my personal development and I thank you for it

Cheers

I'm glad Rohan has learnt from his numerous grammar errors, and is finally passing on what Bigfooty people have taught him :) It's just a shame that his expensice private school couldn't do the job.

That should read "expensive private school".

It is just a shame that your Year 10 Epping Secondary College education couldn't do the job!

Pickett. Do I really have to give reasons?

Montgomery. Always one to put his body on the line.

Wanganeen. Take that clash in the Prelim. where he did his ankle. Prime example.

Lade. Had both legs broken [at various stages] as a result of hard marking contests and has always been tough; hard at it. He's been a bit soft lately, however. So I'll leave that up for discussion.

Francou. I know I'm going to cop some stick for that, but he is.

Hardwick. Tough, by all means, but he needs to control his aggression a bit more.

Leon Davis (yes!)

I actually agree, Leon is a bloody little tough bloke when it counts, I mean he knocked over a ruckman in round 6 with a bump! (Capuano). He's not afraid to put his body on the line, he is surprising when it comes to this sort of thing but I'm sure everyone bar Collingwood supporters will think I am a d|ckhead for even trying to explain this.
