I’m surprised a doc would reveal seven minutes before deadline. I’d be hesitant to send a bodyguard that way, but Beaston would know best if that’s a good or bad deal.

I hear you but Doc isn’t even a unique role (ie it’s not like it was an attempt to get the real doc to claim) and he claimed under no pressure so I believe him based on that alone. Could be that he felt he was likely to be hit overnight as he has been more helpful than most (me included) this game and is hoping for either protection or making sense of morning intel.
