That we were offering more than the cats? More than a million a year? How can we offer that and be in trouble with the salary cap?
My only response to this is:
Because

Imagine you went into a coma Elim final night 2013. You'd think same old shit again.Hope no one went into a coma in 2011 May , then woke up now to see this sh*t show bucks and eddie are putting on
Anyone else ******* fed up hearing about opinions from Matt Rendell? His name is being attached to every Collingwood article as if it's fact and/or inside knowledge. He hasn't been at the club for the season, so I'd say that most of what he's saying is pure speculation.
They do forward planning based on who will be retiring or offloaded. They would have an idea 3 years ago that guys like Dunn, Reid Varcoe would be done this year.I still don’t understand if we were within the Cap in 2020, and potentially have a lot of older guys retiring or being delisted, how we are under pressure for 2021 cap wise, given DeGiey didn’t get a pay rise and Moore and Grundy increases should be offset by offloading maybe a Phillips or Cox.
unless we are trying to bring a big name in that we don’t know about
Who's that Essendon poster that knows Jaidyn and his family?
Da fug we doing...
Tom Waits...
What's he building in there...
We have a right to know...
But Adam TreloarPick 7 for a guy that hasn't played for three seasons.
What a joke.
Fixed it for youThey didnt do any forward planning based on who will be retiring or offloaded. They should have had idea 3 years ago that guys like Dunn, Reid Varcoe would be done this year.
Maybe we're getting Gunston on 700k and the only way to afford him is to get rid of Treloar or Phillips/Stephenson
Its gonna be good watching no spin go through all kinds of mental gymnastics this trade period to explain to us how once again the club has not made a single mistake and managed our list perfectly...
And Eddies response? Hutchy’s trade radio is to blame. Eddie has to goGeelong sign the best forward in the game and we dump players to reduce cap. This is criminal mismanagement
Pick 7 for a guy that hasn't played for three seasons.
What a joke.
On calm reflection I agree with this. It might be a case of being open to trading him for an amazingly absurd offer.Re: Jaidyn StephensonPLAYERCARDSTART2Jaidyn Stephenson

I thought I read “open to reading”. Much different to “actively shopping”
