I completely understand you are talking about external players.
That does nothing to support your claims the club is unappealing, given if that was the case we would have lost gun players.
You can use any number of justifications as to why we kept them, but if a club has issues you don’t keep your guns eg Daniher, Cameron, etc.
And to claim Ess and Carlton being more attractive as clubs, ignores the reality they are over paying to attract top players. $900k for Williams is way overs as most here have said.
So dollars matter more than culture in these club getting players.
Lynch and Cameron seemingly never contemplated coming to Collingwood and they are the biggest guns. Maybe players from other clubs know that we have little to offer financially because we have grossly overpaid to many ordinary players. The only player who nominated Collingwood as a desired destination club was McCarthy, someone in whom we apparently have no interest. I can see that there are players who enjoy life at Collingwood and are happy to remain at the club. I just don't see a lot of players wanting to be traded into the club.

Now I am aware that everything sourced by the media is fake news, I will only give credence to the ins and outs proposed by bigfooty members, as they seem to be the only reliable source.

I think Devon Smith is on the wane and I’d be reluctant to pay up for him, tradewise or salary.

Hasn’t he got knee issues?

Ok - so at least you agree money is the ONLY reason that makes Coll unattractive which is exactly what I‘ve been saying.

Players normally nominate clubs after having spoken to the club gurus. If they know they're wanted they can then nominate..

Hmm also lifestyle factors. Geelong smash us in every category there. Brisbane and GC too.
Culture - Richmond Geelong and Hawks smash us there.
If we wanna talk size and members even WCE beat us at that.
We have way too many unattractive factors that weigh in to players wanting to come here. Always in the spotlight for the wrong thing (drug scandals, Lumumba, JDG, now Treloar) for example. We’re run by the same knob whos been in the job for 22 years. We are stale and boring and even the way we play is shite. Why would anyone wanna come to us? Even if we had money we’d struggle I reckon.

Can't say I was impressed by today. Silence regarding rumour after rumour relating to Treloar and his situation, then the coach got on the front foot on twitter the moment his own name was mentioned.

His own name ? What about AT’s team mates being mentioned as a collective?
Buck went on the front foot on behalf of many at the club.

All these problems and still all our Guns are so stupid that they just keep re-signing. 😂

You need a new narrative -
I’ve already gone through this debate with the previous poster - so back track on the thread, as I’m not repeating myself.

Will Kelly, there's a start. But that's where it ends it seems.

There's good argument you lose out on trading in instead of, like for example T Mac or Wright or any current KPF up for trade. Like always we'd take on the contract or most of it if we were to trade in, yet if we offload we'd likely pay some salary to dump the bulk of it.

Ever single post re trade is speculation until it happens, it's also speculation that we always get the rough end of the stick at trade time......... oh wait. Recent years is evidence it's not speculation. This year it's speculation but looks on face value the wallet has moths and we don't have bargaining power - again.

Would be so much easier if the club was absolutely certain a flag shot is valid or mediocrity is a certainty - then we'd know for sure where the club is headed. But we don't we're all speculating.

Is the club going to trade for another immediate flag tilt? Or would it be a set of desperado moves because it's Buck's last year on contract? On face value the club 'thinks' it's in the window or is in hail mary mode for Bucks, either of which in my mind looks a little ambitious.

With that question is the club waiting on an if and what the end result is of the Treloar deal before even thinking about trading? Has the club hamstrung itself that this is the situation it is in? Again, speculation until we know for sure. Looks likely though.
We have so many questions and so little answers.

Journo said they didn't believe the players wouldn't want Ads at the club. It was Bucks being accused of saying something - nobody else. His comment didn't even defend Treloar and his standing within the group. He was going into bat because he was accused of something, or that's how I read it in the context of the cone of silence that has been erected by the Club around the topic of Treloar.

Re-signing because we offer stupid deals and overpay players and then we end up with situations like Treloar.
So yes cash is the ONLY issue holding us back. Hahahah do you know how stupid you sound.

Dayne Beams
He’s technically a KPF because he weighs the same as Charlie Dixon now.

Right. So unless the journalist is a Collingwood supporter, I needn't pay any attention to their stories. Thank's for giving me inside running on this one.

I don’t remember telling you that you had to do anything champ :) I know him, he hates the Pies but you can believe whoever or whatever you want

Please provide evidence that ALL of the following Guns, Sidey, Pendles Darcy JDG TA Howe are on stupid deals

Well I’m not sure, Pendlebury Sidebottom Howe Elliott Stevo are all OOC next year and JDG isn’t even signed yet. Neither is Rough, Checkers or Pig. Moore is on $850k after one good season and huge injury worries. Then the year after we gave Maynard IQ Moore and Daicos again. You tell me. We are cooked. Stupid deals all over the place.

We have so many questions and so little answers.

As in us here on BF? Or the Club itself? Or both?

Question 1, no doubt.

Question 2, is yet to be revealed, going on recent trade periods no one can say the club has a solid handle on the situations. However in saying that I'd be surprised and seriously p155ed off if the club makes similar blunders again, that is of course disregarding the hindsight jobs like Beams and Langdon.

So I'll reserve judgement with not much confidence.

What is going to p155 everyone off is if the club actually do zero trades so we don't end worse because the club has actually backed itself into a corner on the back of previously bad trades.

That's essentially what has got everyone's back up in here, the perceived situation the club has put itself in. I'd very surprised if we come out of this trade period with a win, it's looking more and more like a lose lose situation.:poo::(

Let me condense that down for you.

Journo claimed that Coach flat out lied to Player in a phone call about playing group wanting him gone, when it's not the case.

Coach called bullshit on that.

Journo appears to be dabbling in a bit of character assassination against said Coach in a weak attempt to stir the pot.

Pretty simple really.
