He’s not NQR, who is available for selection in the PSD with stats similar to his? We need another in and under body doing the grunt work. Have to protect the younger boys learning their craft playing in the middle.
Clearances are elite and before someone mentions disp. efficiency… FWIW Adams is worse.

Question for the BF Draft experts, Can you select a player that has been delisted from previous years for the PSD?

100% agree. He’s only 27. 100 plus games experience. Very good at contested ball, tackles, clearances.

Doesn’t cost us any draft picks... just a senior list spot. Probably Modest wages. Only have to offer the bloke 2 years. Will compliment Adams and provide depth for when Adams is inevitably injured. Gives Reef more time to develop on the ball. Allow De Goey more flexibility in how he plays

Dunstan is not going to get better from here but he is more than Sier ever will be and (likely) more than Rantall, and the Brown bros will amount to next year and the year after

If over the next couple of years we are to eventually cut kids like the aforementioned Sier, Brown bros, Rantall etc then we need senior footballers to hold it together while the next crop of mids continue to develop.

We get Daicos and (likely) Lipinski this year to compliment the crop of J Daicos, McRae, McInness, Poulter coming through... but apart from McInness... that’s still a fairly outside-ish bunch of players and It’s not then until the end of 2022 that we get another 1st rd pick to potentially bring in another inside mid bull

I know others will want to hit the draft instead but we won’t have the picks this year and next year will likely be missing pick/s too if we are to bring in both lipinski and Kreuger

Did he just predict a top 5 B&F finish for Lipinski? Ahead of Crisp, De Goey, Moore, Grundy, Adams, Pendlebury, Elliott, Daicos (perhaps x2) and Maynard??

The Dogs just made a GF, so all their players are the new hotness, and all our boys are VFL standard.

He is a big fan of Macrae too.

Also says Tyler Brown is the one they need to get up and going.

Rucks however are harder to find and should trade at a premium

That's not the general vibe on this board (and especially in the Grundy thread), where opinions seem to more often than be along the lines of competent/serviceable AFF-standard rucks being able to be found anywhere at any time.

and moore up forward/ruck HAHA
If Moore was made of granite he'd probably be an amazing ruckman. But I just know that someone like Mumford would do their best to hurt him.

But given he's a top 3 key defender in the comp, I'm not going to mess with that.

While l don’t agree with it, it was on using Kelly down back and not forward which that part l agree with.
I don’t think it will happen at all, but l hope they do send Kelly back

Clearly this bloke doesn't realize that we're rebuilding like the hawks and I can't see us trading that out. My jaw dropped when he said that lol
I mean, we basically did the same thing last year so I can see his logic, but honestly, it is pretty funny that people think the club would consider doing a trade like that without a Daicos coming to us…

We did, but had a reason for it. We don't have the same reasons to do that next year

You dont think there should be some
So let me get this right , your saying if we implement my stratergy we will be at the bottom of the ladder right? In other words getting rid of Degoey Grundy Pendels and Sidebottom.
We finished 17th we are already in the bottom of the ladder with them!
If we implement my stratergy we may end up with another 2 high end elite kids not including Daicos jnr that will make it 3.
We play Lynch and Cameron in the ruck, we still have enough experience in the list which hopefully will quicken our rebuild
Me thinks you're 3/4's through smoking a 12Kg bag of weed.

If we dumped Degoey, Pendles, Sidebottom & Grundy then we wouldn't be able to hold others like Crisp, Maynard, Adams, Moore, Quaynor, etc. in the future. Other teams would rape us silly in years to come and anyone left would jump ASAP.

Yep that baffled me too lol

Exactly. Insurmountable means we have the capabilities to resolve the issues. Those capabilities could be anything from Trading Grundy to doing nothing and toughing it out.
A hangover effect probably refers to payments still being made to Treloar etc

Sorry but i dont see it in Tyler Brown
He is slow.
He doesnt have any weapons.
He doesnt want to kick the footy, ever.
He would need a miracle to transform himself into a best on ball midfielder

Until they see max gawn and change their minds again!!!!

Grundy haters gunna hate. If the Dees win the flag…. Why doesn’t Grundy play like. Gawn. If Dogs win the flag….rucks are overrated and cheapies will get the job done just as well.

People are way too keen to offload Grundy for starters and secondly if we don’t want his contract why would any other club?

I’m keen to see what Grundy offers next season under a new game plan and new coach. Posters here consistently talk about his ruck work and him dropping the ball at his feet. Do you think that is Grundy doing what Grundy wants, Grundy doing the only thing he can do or Grundy rucking to directions from the coaching staff as to how they wanted the game set up? I’m tipping given how we liked to play and defend and support our defense that is was probably the last point more than the first two.

Trading Grundy now would result in us getting less than we want and paying part of his salary. Basically another Treloar…. I don’t see it happening and frankly I don’t want us to…. I’m backing Grundy to return to 2018 form.

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app
Don’t worry that’s because half the posters don’t have a clue. We set up defensively through the middle and Grundy hits to defensive positions and everyone pots him if we don’t dominate clearances

THE TOP 10 PLAYERS WHO WILL MAKE AN INSTANT IMPACT AT NEW CLUBS

3. Patrick Lipinski (Collingwood)

As a Dogs wingman, who played 73 per cent in that role this year, he’s just a handy player.

He was the sub for much of the year so, using another metric, his 19 possessions per 100 minutes is smack bang on the average for an AFL wingman.

But when looking at his potential, consider the four VFL games he played this year as an inside midfielder.

He averaged 156 ranking points, 35 touches, 13 contested possessions, seven clearances, 2.5 centre square clearances, 1.3 goals, 7.8 score involvements and 4.8 tackles.

There is no reason he can’t make an immediate splash with a top-five best-and-fairest finish next year, alongside Scott Pendlebury, Jordan De Goey, Taylor Adams and Steele Sidebottom as they give the young kids in Nick Daicos and Finlay Macrae some cover as they find their feet.

11. Nathan Kreuger (Collingwood)
Kreuger is a canny acquisition by the Pies, who will win his services despite the interest of St Kilda. The Cats swingman has played only a single AFL game in three years - two of them with few real VFL games.

But in his first VFL season, he showed he can be an aerial threat averaging eight marks, three intercept marks and seven intercept possessions.

He also pushed forward to kick six goals against Coburg in that season and wants to play forward, so will have a chance to join Brody Mihocek and Darcy Cameron as a marking target in a team crying out for more of them.

So that is even before Trade Period has Started

Agree - that Grundy has attributes that blend both Gawn and Jackson is lost on so many.

Lol , you hole theory on what i call a clear out for high end picks is just based on assumptions thats all.
Maybe we should call you Nostradamus or the oracle?
You seem to be able to predict the future?
Make Adams captain, vice captains Moore Maynard Crisp . Explain to them the future plan they will stay
Last year Degoeys father spoke to any club that would listen to him , obviously his impending court case clubs kept there distance.
He has a year to run until he becomes a R F.A if he decides to leave next year?
This year at least his under contract we have more leveridge

To be honest, I'd be keeping Lynch unless there is a stupid offer on the table. Cox can go but we don't need to lose both IMO. If Grundy goes down, I can't see Cameron taking over the mantle, and if he does there goes our forward structure.
Cox should go. But Lynch provides no forward cover. I think Grundy is quite handy forward and last year when Lynch had a couple of games I would have kept him tucking with Grundy forward. We weren’t playing finals by that stage

I think he has huge potential. I have been disappointed with his progress but I know the club had huge expectations of him. He can take a strong mark and has a nice leap on him. He is a solid kick and needs to kick more often but that comes with confidence. He will be a big strong boy when he stops growing and this will help. I think he will be a long term player.
