He’s played 50 games in 5 years, is about to turn 24 and couldn’t even make the bulldogs emergencies, future 4th should get it done… if dogs want to try screw us again just walk away and threaten psd until deadline day and watch them come crawling back.

I'm confident Wright wont do a Ned Guy and get screwed over.

Just turned 23 two months ago. So I wouldn't say "about to turn 24"

Heard something similar today. Pies after taking Daicos and covering points swap nexts years first pick for the saints pick 9 this year. Starts our rebuild a year early and gives saints currency for King next year.

So probably not doing this
BUT
Where do we feel that next year's 1st will be for us?
If we got to that pick and THE PLAYER we really want and rate is RIGHT THERE!

Would we do the trade then?

Backing ourselves to rise somewhat up the ladder.

At least this keeps us interested in draft night after the Daicos match.

Which begs the question - why do we want him?

The last bit is really the key - I guess the question for Fly and co. is whether they think they can turn it around, as he's still young and has a high ceiling if we can just tap into it.

As an aside talk about being able to play various roles for established players is fluff imo and needs to be left behind with the Buckley robots-that-can-play-a-role era - many of the good (even elite) players in the competition only ever play the one role for their most of their career, they just do it very well. I agree younger players need to have a few strings to their bow until the best one can be identified, but for established players that's just not the case especially for the good ones.

Agree with you when it comes to jets like say Clayton Oliver - why would you want flexibility from him when he’s so good at what he does?

But having some players with flexibility to play inside and outside are an asset to a midfield. We see it in Treloar at the Dogs, and will likely see it in Lipinski at the pies.

Sier... at his size, if he could slot in elsewhere, eg half back, then that would be an asset worth persisting with... but he’s a sluggish player who struggles to run out games at AFL level. That’s career killing. There’s no playing him anywhere else even at VFL level

Greenwood on the other hand had a good endurance base and even when he was demoted from the midfield group... he was able to play a role up front, as a one off tagger or in defence. And he trained hard and set a good example on the track

All that probably added 40 games to his career

One wanted to get the best out of himself, the other is content with making an AFL list.
You could not fault the pig for work rate, effort or dedication. The bear on the other hand probably should be renamed sloth

I’d say our next years pick will fall between 5-9, but hopefully higher😂

I just think if we were to do it and have pick 9 we get a player 12 months earlier than next year. This puts last years big block of recruits with Daicos + Pick 9 this year adding Lipinski to build in 2022. Better to have a pick 9 this year under Pendles and Sidey than waiting for a pick 5-9 next year.

Likely won't be our saviour but then again we never foresaw the success that Jack Crisp would have! Hopefully he actually nominates us officially. The rest will sort itself out, even if it's brushed aside until the last day.

Swap of future thirds probably fair
Quite comical that the dogs say they will drive a hard bargain. We won’t be pushovers under GW this time though
I think they will hopefully walk him through the PSD as Freedy will be cheaper to trade

Lynch couldn't get games ahead of Cameron and Cox in a team that finished 17th. In the eyes of other Clubs, his value would be close to zero.

(As supporters, we have an unconscious bias towards over-rating our own players and undervaluing those of opposition teams)
First ruck can’t get games ahead of two fwd/rucks.

Value tarnished!!!11

Trade Radio is a steaming pile of freshly minted horse $hit. Actually hurts all 5 of my senses hearing a single second of it. Besides that, goes OK.

I take offense at that. My shit is infinitely higher in quality and less obnoxious.

Not a dig but serious question. Doesn’t that pick 9 get swallowed up if another club bids on Daicos prior to 9? Or the intention is to have this pick to absorb that bid and play the rest for Dibs etc?

They’re talking about live trading next years first during the draft after Daicos has already been bid on.

Not if you swap the picks during the draft, after the daicos match is made.

Graham Wright isn't just going to acquire Kreuger and Lipinski.

Kreuger will be coming at the start of the trade period and Lipinski will be dealt with towards the end. We know Lipinski can wind up in the PSD but it would be better not to. Doggies will want a deal for points for Darcy.
