Had another go at what our salary cap looks like in 2019 if we bring in Lynch on $1m. I have no idea what Cotch/Jack/Rance are on after taking a cut but I assumed around 400k each.

1) Nick Vlastuin 350k
2) Dylan Grimes 450k
3) Dion Prestia 700k
4) Dustin Martin 1.1m
5) Brandon Ellis 350k
6) Shaun Grigg 250k
7) Dan Butler 300k
8) Jack Riewoldt 400k
9) Trent Cotchin 400k
10) Shane Edwards 400k
11) Jason Castagna 300k
12) David Astbury 300k
14) Bachar Houli 250k
15) Jayden Short 400k
16) Shaun Hampson Gone
17) Dan Rioli 300k
18) Alex Rance 400k
19) Tom Lynch $1m
21) Jacob Townsend Gone
22) Josh Caddy 500k
23) Kane Lambert 350k
24) Ben Griffiths Gone
25) Toby Nankervis 250k
26) Anthony Miles Gone
27) Sam Lloyd Gone
28) Jack Higgins 80k
29) Shai Bolton 120k
30) Reece Conca 200k
31) Oleg Markov 100k
32) Corey Ellis Gone
33) Kamdyn McIntosh 200k
34) Jack Graham 100k
35) Nathan Broad 250k
36) Callum Moore 100k
37) Connor Menadue 150k
38) Noah Balta 80k
39) Nathan Drummond 90k
40) Callum Coleman-Jones 80k
41) Mabior Chol 90k
42) Ryan Garthwaite 90k
43) Derek Eggmollese-Smith 65k
44) Tyson Stengle 80k
45) Patrick Naish 80k
46) Ben Miller 80k
47) Ivan Soldo 80k
48) Liam Baker 65k

Assuming these 6 players are gone, we will bring in Lynch + 5 new draftees with an average of 80k each. This brings an expected salary of 11.43m. The 2019 salary cap is 12.75m.

Could we be chasing a second big fish? Shiel maybe?
No way on the world Cotch,Jack and even Sheds are on that low of an amount.

I have no idea where you've got the figures... but l dont trust them. I didnt read past Tigger on $350k.

All of the figures are estimates, but with careful thought put into them. Tigger signed his contract in 2016. At that stage there was no 20% increase nor was he in the sort of form he's in now. $350k for what was then a 4th year player in decent/okay form is reasonable.

Nank could also demand pretty big coin, Lambert too.

Agreed. When we signed him though he was a no-name 4th down the list ruckman from Sydney. I doubt he's on much $$$ with his current contract. I also agree that Lambo is worth higher on the market right now, but I think he would've only been offered around $350k at the time of singing.

I get taking a cut, surely they wouldnt cut THAT much
The way that Jack spoke about his salary cut on AFL360 made me think it's been heavily reduced. Pretty sure back in their hay-day, Hawks legends like Hodge/Lewis were only on about $300k to make sure the Hawks could retain their team.

Titch signed back in 2015 when he was no where near the form he is in now. $450k back when he signed would have been 1.6x the average AFL salary. Cotch, Jack and Rance have all reported to have taken very heavy pay cuts. $400k might seem too low, but these guys have been on around $800k for the last 5-7 years and I would think are more concerned with the future of the club.

Oh Dear, so much wrong here that I don't even know where to start. Despite my opinion that many of those sums are extremely inaccurate, I don't think there is a point discussing something that no one has any idea about. This is not a crack at you MR, sorry if it sounds that way.

The main reason I responded to this is because TPP is not this linear! There are so many variables that go into how TPP is calculated which would go over all our heads.

It's not 1+1=2, it's more like E=MC2.

Mate good onya for having a crack you’ve put some thought into it.
One thing I know is Jack Cotch and Tross all got longer contracts but on less coin to fit in Lynch ch 7 were discussing it last Friday night during the wrap up following roaming Brian

Not sure you're going to want to put your $1m dollar a year man with a history of knee issues anywhere near the ruck

Bwahaha... are your still having a sook about the ruckman/forward that you got fisted by? Not everyone is a pea heart fragile campaigner like Tippett.

Still no word on Cerra re-signing with Freo. Can't be a good sign, especially with how they're travelling.

Still thinl Bolton and something for Cerra would be a great win for us.
bolton+conca for cerra+2nd rd pick
