Guys, just relax about the Melb pick. If we lost Griff we'd expect Band 1 as an All Australian, key player in our team. Frawley is no different.

The question now is do we trade up to 3 to take McCartin/Wright or do we stick at 6 and take Lever or similar? My gut says Lever or sit tight, only because I'm convinced, all things being equal, that Lever is a star.

Also, as I've said before, Scharenberg was a "lock" for top 3 even this late last year. Anything can happen and I'd be keen to wait and see what happens in 7 weeks. If the 2 forwards end up going before our pick, so be it, we throw $1m over 6 at Cameron next year and take Lever. All good.

There is a significant difference between James Frawley and Ryan Griffen.

Oh well, it's done and out of our control now anyway. We still have a great chance to improve this club and lift us out of the doldrums that Melbourne occupy currently.

Let's go back to being stoked that we stole Cordy for a 4th round pick. We were happy to pay a 2nd rounder for him and even a 3rd would be great, but no we get him with pick 61 or 62 whatever it ends up being, that is fantastic! Can still pick up a good player with that 3rd round pick even optimistic fans thought we were coughing up for him.

Those suckers at Melbourne, GWS etc could have made us use pick 25 but fell asleep, hahaha.

If Frawley's getting 500 for 4 years, and Higgins 4 at 400 then It's just a back door draft concession without the amount of flack they'd get from every club . If that's the case it defies logic, then again logic and AFL Thinking aren't constant bedfellows.
Ward and Scully compo with both teams getting a pick after their first was fair enough, but why on earth wouldn't there be a calculation for future compo tied into such as B+F finishes, brownlow votes in a certain time frame?
Just more overcompensating and idiocy from HQ. Going by AFL calculations Chris Grant would have drawn less compo than Anthony Banik back in 88..

6, 25 & 26.

Probably what it would cost us to get #3 but I'd be furious if we traded both 2nd rounders..

What would you prefer:

#3 - Patrick McCartin

OR

#6 - Jake Lever or Sam Durdin
#26 - Connor Menadue or Corey Ellis
#27 - Reece McKenzie or Matthew Hammelmann

I'd be taking the second option every day of the week.

Interesting that Tristan believes the number to be close to only 500k

Its because we as a club must like getting bent over.
Here Hawthorn have a Key back you need to win Premierships.
No problem, the compo for Ward was sufficient in comparison to Scully.
Thats ok Harbrow meant nothing to us.

Either we don't speak up enough or we are irrelevant.
