Wonder if the club is approaching Greenwood again??

Reported Griff is taking a big salary cut and will retire if he doesn't get traded. How does this happen.

Let it happen stuff him.

My Question, how did our football department pick this bloke out as the leader for the club ? Am i missing something or has something gone drastically wrong ? And not just what supposedly happened in that excuse ridden email drafted in 5 minutes and sent in a panic by Gordon today.

How did a team of supposed professionals and a Board assigned with the governance of this club let this shit happen ?

Why am i as a 30+ year member ready to tell by club to stick their membership up their back passage ?

The shitty thing is that we're half way through trade week, so we're on the back foot already.

If I was North I would be salivating at the deal we could offer them as we are looking desperate for mature mids.....let's face it with Higgins, Cooney, Grif going - we are.

So the Jon Ralph article says: "GWS sources were categoric yesterday all of Tom Boyd, Liam Shiel, Jeremy Cameron, Jon Patton, Will Hoskin-Elliott and Adam Treloar were untradeable."

Does this mean our only option is to get in their ears, offer them contracts and hope one of them requests a trade to us, making themselves completely tradeable?

There are no untradeable targets when you attempt to take a club's contracted captain.

So their players are untradeable but our ******* CAPTAIN is fair game for them?

Leon Cameron must have promised Griffen that he would get a deal done for Griffen to throw caution to the wind and trash his reputation in this way.

We are in a good place in the negotiations - not as good as it could be, but strong none-the-less.
Good point. GWS and Griffen made specific mention of a "fair" trade

Our trades, in order, IMO are:
1. Jeremy Cameron
2. Tom Boyd
3. Will Hoskin Elliot
4. Pick 4&7

That is it. Choose your box GWS.
Would rather 4 and 7 over WHE tbh, maybe even Boyd, maybe

4 + 7 is so huge for us, it could very realistically give us Wright and Lever, along with a mid like Weller or Laverde at our own first rounder and that is a ridiculous amount of talent to bring into the group.

I also wouldn't mind getting Melbourne involved in the trade:
  • GWS send player Melb wants to get them to downgrade pick 2 to 6
  • GWS get Griffen, lose pick 4 to dogs and player to Melb
  • Dogs get pick 2 & 4 and lose 6 & Griffen
In summary dogs get pick 4 and upgrade of pick 6 to 2 (and so guarantee a KPF in this draft)

Ok things getting worse. Reported now that it will only be 7 and a "mid-tier" player for griff

There is no way it'll be pick 7 and some crap
Effectively trading Jaksch and 19 for Griffen. Get stuffed (for lack of a better word). I trust our department will do better than that.
