In my opinion, Josh Dunkley will always be in the bottom third of the team as far as the quality of his field kicking is concerned. That's ok, he is elite in other areas.

its his dad's fault. dunkley is not a great kick, but he will improve.

I am unsure as to why the Bulldogs retained Prudden even as a rookie.

Is it because
a) it is felt with a good injury free run he can develop into a best 22 player
b) he is good depth to cover for injuries to best 22 players
c) the club wants to do the right thing by him with his current injury
d) he is seen as better than what will be available come the rookie pick
e) some other reason that i cannot see

I am assuming it is b or c

As one of the original Prudden worshippers , I can understand why there is a little angst we have retained him.
But at the same time those that havn't seen much of him when he was up and running are probably seriously underating his ability.
At AFL level he was played at half back , but he is an inside mid only IMO.
Has terrific decision making and a lovely kick in tight.
I think the club does want to do the right thing by blokes that put in the hard work , Prudden is certainly in that camp. Just been destroyed by injuries.

Problem is he is just too small to play that role at afl level, he isnt going to make it, if he was a bit quicker a role at half back may have ok for him but he is quite slow so that wont suit him either, vfl is his level.

Agree can't be a half back , but he is a very capable inside mid.
Lot of competition right now for one of those spots.

Macreadie is GWS academy and the rumours are Dodo will get Long
before pick 50. Todd Marshall was GWS academy, but the AFL
removed him from their evil grasp. Our picks place us in the position
of taking who ever slips through what could be twenty plus
players depending on academy bids. Luckily this draft has good
depth before it becomes needs based.

And take him if they don't.

Marshall would be a great acquisition for us imo. Hes the prototype for the modern KPF
