I do think Stringer was more important to the premiership than he got credit for though Pann. Our mids/general structure make it hard for our forwards to score sometimes and there have been a number of games where flashy goals out of nowhere have been very important in helping us lift and get over the line. My concern is that without him there is very little in the way of spark in that forward line.

I certainly hope I'm wrong, but I look at a potential forward six next year and shudder.

This manic pressure is a huge factor in why the Tiges are playing in a prelim on Saturday IMO

What we need are some STRONG leaders in our leadership group who can pull a wilful character like Jake into line. Dale, Easton, Bont, are just too nice. Imagine Jake explaining to Joel Selwood why he only laid one tackle .

Why does this prick have it in for us, seriously he couldn't talk down stringers trade value more if he tried, it really is morally unfair, he is entitled to his opinion but he is hate bashing our club and I for one can't stand someone that is attacking the very fabric of what our club stands for

Dale Morris on Stringer:

Moz is gradually becoming my favourite player ever. He's just an incredible human being who gives his all for the club, is bloody good at football, is a great bloke and manages to be regarded as one of toughest players in the league without being a sniper. Absolute champion.

Insinuated that the club has handled the whole Stringer thing badly. Took a couple of swipes at Bev. One for not telling Jake that there was an issue at the exit meeting then not telling him he was up for trade. Also had a ping at him for coming out in the press and telling the footy world he was up for trade.
He hinted that Bevo's actions have valued Jake's trade value down.
That the club want to control where Jake is going. Barrett has basically said Jake is nominating Geelong.

I'm not a fan of Barrett's pot-shots usually but you don't have to be Einstein to know we've handled it poorly, many of us have even said so on here. What he said was exactly right imo.

Have we though? I still think our intention is not to trade Stringer and it is all to give him a kick up the arse and judging by how he was on trade radio i think it's working.

We havent made a meal out of it thus far. Only real assessment can be made after the trade is done. I think we are passed the stage of getting a good trade for him but we still could retain him and turn him around to our benefit.

Obviously getting unders for a contracted star would be a disgraceful result though and one that simply must not happen.
