Ah, I think Jake holds the cards unfortunately. He is contracted to the Dogs for next year. He can only be traded to a club if he agrees to it. So the club would have to convince him to move to a club which he does not nominate.

The club should have keep this in house until trade week and then floated the options to clubs. Get a good deal done then sell it to Jake.

That sounds a lot like doing exactly what we're doing now, but with a quarter of the time to get it done?

I'm not so sure about that.

You'd hope that Jake would be fully aware that He is contracted and could be sitting out of footy next year if he isnt careful and doesn't adopt a flexible approach to his club of choice.

Would like to think that. Unfortunately (although I only have read what's printed...) you get the feeling it's past the point of no return and it's likely that this has been the case for some time.

Bevo has always said it's a team first approach and when one soldier falls, another takes their place. He obviously doesn't play favorites nor does he seem interested in carrying anyone. Personally...I like it. Sad for Jake. Sad for his fans. But I barrack for the Club - players will always come and go. You just hope we get what he's worth if he's traded out.

Just as a heads up for everyone, this option will disappear at some point - it may be worth getting used to the new theme early, but it's your call.
