Bulldogs are interviewing Heath Shaw

1v1 Defensive Coach. Make it happen dogs.

The big worry would be that the Brisbane team couldn't get his body right, so probably no-one will
He was playing NEAFL this year - and he was behind a few KPPs at Brisbane. No way he was getting a ruck/forward gig over the Big O or Archie and wasn't going to push out Andrews/Gardiner for a KPD spot.

I'd take him in a heartbeat if he knees are ok.

Well this thread got pretty embarrassing.

Posters are entitled to post that they received inside information and share it and other posters are entitled to believe it or not but derailing a thread with childish stuff and carrying on like pork chops is pretty juvenile and having a pissing contest seriously.

Thought the mods response to only address one poster was odd and not really fair either.

Hopefully this thread can actually get back to discussing trade and list management (which is what it’s meant for). There is plenty to discuss around list needs, what we should be after for Dunkley if he decides to leave and the club allow it, small forwards, rucks, key defenders, what assistant to chase to replace gia etc.

The Mods response was to address behaviour that occurred well before the discussion about inside information.

Then you completely avoided the derailment of the thread and what a poster did previously shouldn’t mean they are treated differently over the derailment of a thread. Anyway this isn’t the space to discuss it, just found it a very odd situation and response

Again I am not referring to now the present.

I don't mean Gia is gone why haven't we appointed someone.

Since 2015 what new Assistant Coaches have come in with new IQ, strong enough to challenge Bev, new forward structure and ways it can function?
Sorry if this comes across an singling you out Dog 36, not meant to be as your posts reflect a commonality on this board.

Again though you are stating our current assistants are not strong enough to challenge Bev. Have you spoken to any of them to know this is a fact or is it supposition? Also, what sort of challenge do you want and what should the reaction be if Bev does not follow their suggestions? Have you ever been a senior assistant coach and worked as a part of a senior coaching group?

I also gather instead of IQ you mean IP and a forward structure functioning properly is dependant on all areas of the ground as well as structures for stoppages, fast plays and slow plays not simply getting a gun forwards coach

Fox Footy trade preview saying that Jack Lonie should get to Bulldogs

I've seen it mentioned here a few times that whatever we get for Dunkley needs to be used to fill the holes on our list.

I couldn't disagree more. Whatever we get for Dunkley will be a blue chip commodity - you don't waste that on role players.

If we get high picks for Dunks you take that to the draft. Addressing holes in our list is a completely separate equation.

Saints list manager was asked about lonie and bulldogs and said he isn’t sure there even was that much interest

What's your proposal then on the premise that he wants to leave?
Use it to trade for an out and out gun in their prime, use it to move up the draft order to snare a potential out and out gun this year or next. Not to waste on role/depth players or points to pay for JUH.

Can you name the players? I'm interested in what players you think we could get or that would want to come here.

I think the issue is that those high picks wouldn’t be high picks after matching the JUH bid.

For example say we get picks 6 and 7, JUH gets bid on at pick 1 we lose pick 6 and pick 7 becomes pick 18

Joel Corey to return to the club as a line/ VFL coach after a few adjustments.

Less than a goal a game, hardly a tackling machine. The only time I notice him is when he plays on from someone else's free to kick a cheap goal.

Was awful in their last final. No thanks.

I think that’s one of the problems. It’s very late in the piece now with trade week fast approaching and I would think top line players take months to identify if gettable and convince. I could give you a list of names based on no intel at all so pointless. I just think if you lose a Dunkley type you need to have a very good plan of what you’re going to do with the assets. We traditionally don’t attract big names but we also don’t want to keep going to the draft and getting younger.
