I suggest you go and check his one on one stats from his last season. They are stupidly good.

Meanwhile we have Keath who can barely win an aerial contest.

But all good - Keath is triple jabbed so that might increase our chances of a flag.

I'd take Keath every day of the week over Jones.

Gee whiz Carlton are obviously struggling without him though....🙄

If we pick up Jones I may microwave membership

He bugged out of the club once already
He's an anti-vax nuffie
and most of all
HE'S NOT THAT GOOD!!!

I remember saying a few years ago that he was the least skilled footballer in the league, and I doubt much has changed!
What if signing jones leads to winning the flag next year ? That’s what this is all about

Keath isn’t done yet but he’s not the man to take the gorillas. And neither is Gardner. We need a solid key defender as well as a better defensive structure. We need Keath floating across and intercepting. He is playing so far off his best role it’s not funny.

Nab Jones and a Logue/another mature type and you’ll see the best in Keath. We need more than just a Jones and it’s a free stab at success if he can continue with his form before his year off.

Carlton have Weitering who is a gun and a better defensive structure than us so I’m not shocked they’ve been solid back there with Young.

JJ, Wallis, Cordy, Schache, Martin, McLean would be $2m pa at least one would think coming off the books.
Yes but there would be some very significant upgrades for English, Dale, Daniel, Bont, and Smith (potentially dunks) to come, that also kicks in next year.

I hope the club stays firm and isn’t offering JJ anything over 2 years. If he gets better and leaves them Godspeed to him, no grudges.

I think it’s about everyone complying with government vaccine experiments - I want all players to take as many jabs as their told to take (ala Essendon players)

In Dan Andrews words of wisdom- it’s the right decision and the only decision.

I’m all for following orders from corrupt science and big pharma influence! Can’t have Bigots like Jones at the Club who may be related to Alex Jones!

Norm Smith medallist Jason Johannisen has put off contract talks - having previously started them earlier in the year. Assessing the free agency market. A sense among clubs now that the Dogs are in the box seat for Liam Jones.

No harsh feelings towards JJ for testing the market. My guess is that he won't like what he finds though. I don't see any other clubs having much interest in him. I hope he is with us next year but that the deal looks something like 200k and it's a single year deal. If Libba's form last year only earned him two years then JJ can't expect more than one. He has been a good player and servant of the club but he has been compensated well above what he has produced, so the club certainly doesn't owe it to him to give him any generous deal. If he's not with us next year it's a very small loss.

He's a Norm Smith medallist and will go down in history as a Bullgod. It's sad that he could never get back to that peak 2016 form, but overall he had a fantastic career.

Agreed with this.
JJ isn't a loss, he simply got tagged outta the half back line, and honestly I still don't see it forward, between Garcia, West and Weightman we're almost set for those small pressure types. Last thing I'd be doing is handing JJ another decent contract, a year, maybe two at most, on mediocre to low money, as his output has been mediocre at times to say the least.

PREMIERSHIP BULLDOG WEIGHS OPTIONS

PORT Adelaide is among the clubs interested in Western Bulldogs midfielder Josh Dunkley, who has been offered a long-term deal by the Dogs.

Dunkley's future remains unclear as the end of his current deal nears, two years after he requested a trade to Essendon at the end of the 2020 season that did not go through.

The Power are understood to be among the rivals pursuing Dunkley, whose partner Tippah Dwan is a netballer at the Adelaide
But the Bulldogs are also keen to keep Dunkley at Whitten Oval, with the ball-winner having had a contract offer in front of him through this season.

The 2016 premiership player is one year away from reaching free agency, having joined the club at the 2015 NAB AFL Draft, with the Bulldogs having signed up guns Jack Macrae, Bailey Dale, Caleb Daniel and Tim English this season to new deals.

The 25-year-old has played every game this season and averaged 25 disposals, four clearances and nearly a goal a game. – Callum Twomey

Not a chance he moves interstate.

I like JJ but we should only offer 1 or 2 years on low coin. He's close to Hunter isn't he? Maybe he's miffed at the Hunter treatment by bevo?

Moving on JJ and potentially Hunter would free up a lot of cap for us to re-shuffle and fix some holes in our list so we can target who we need to go for a full flag tilt next year
