Feel like our overuse of the ball really kills our structure and ball movement. We stuff around with handballs where we move backwards and sideways which results in yuk high entries. Also makes it hard for forwards to know when to lead and opposition mids and ruckman to sag back.

If we get Jones and Lobb it will help but it’s not the silver bullet. We need to stop overusing the ball. Use a Richmond style game of low possession through the middle and move it forward quicker with our forwards playing in front.

While we're publicly eyeing Jones & Lobb as if 30+ year old band-aids are the difference-makers that'll push us over the top.

Lazy, lazy recruiting.

Personnel doesn’t mean much for us until we’ve sorted our defensive structure.

We could pick up Curnow, Weitering and Andrews and there will still be holes galore in our structure. Our setup is mind boggling when we don’t have the footy.

Re-signing Caleb to such a long deal could turn out to be a mistake. For me it is super clear that we can't afford so many offensively minded players in defence, and we need a re-jig. Dale has gone ahead of him, and both Richards and Dale are better defensively, so he's the likely candidate to need another spot.

Agreed. He was one that could have waited. Needs a positional change too.

Spot on mate , and bevo trying to slot in treloar aswell

Toby has had two knee recos. Is he going to be get back to his best? I would argue he is not best 22 any longer and can't get a game ahead of someone like McComb.
Bloke with 2 knee recos has been our best mid all year.

Bloke with 3 knee recos played in our flag side.

I'd even go one further and say we need to target another defender (in addition to Jones) this trade period. Nathan Broad is seemingly out of contract? If we end up losing Dunkley and also freeing up cash through Hunter we could get him and go into 2023 with a line up like this which is so much better balanced.

FB: Broad, Jones, Duryea
HB: Richards, Keath/Gardner, Dale
C: Williams, Libba, B.Smith
HF: JJ, Naughton, West
FF: Weightman, Lobb, Ugle-Hagan
R: English, Bont, Macrae
Int: Treloar (Mid-Forward), Daniel (Mid-Forward), McNeil (Forward), Darcy (Defence)

Emerg: Bruce, Mclean, Sweet, Garcia

SURELY we are all over Darcy Gardiner?

Bergmann from Port up for trade... Gee it's going to be a big one.

Man I'd love Taranto if one of our mids leave.

Bergmann apparently has explosive pace, I'll take that.

Either way we need to get serious this trade period, already f****** Geelong and Richmond are being linked to Hopper, Taranto and De Goey and you just know they'll bloody land one while the likes of us p*** around the edges.

Trade: Hunter, Keath, Obrien, Crozier, Williams, Hannan, Vandermeer

Delist: JJ, Cordy, Duryea, Wallis, Martin, McComb

Re-sign the rest. I still have hope that Schache could do well under our next coach.

Schache is gone

He is going to a club that will settle him in one position not place him all over the ground.

He will make something of it.

Can easily see Schache doing a Lewis Young and doing well elsewhere if he’s settled in one spot. Another Bevo special.

Broad is only good for boob pics

Broad would be our best defender by a mile. Should have got him a few years ago, already 30.
