Also small thing I noticed in the Baz re-signs video was Bailey talking about happy to get this done before the end of the season ramps up and they make a finals push. Indicates as many others have said that the deal was done a while ago.
Yep.

If Dunks is staying, it's probably been done already.

Announcements of "big" signings are often made at strategic times.

I noticed this as well, this was clearly done/filmed weeks ago and only released now.

Let’s not shoot the messenger again. Cleveland shared some info he received from a source which is welcome. At least our recruiting dept are having a crack and recognise our weaknesses.
Not shooting the messenger, as I said I don't doubt we've approached Barrass' management, so believe cleveland in that regard.

While I would happily be proven wrong, there are so many compelling reasons for Power to overcome to get Barrass and West Coast to even consider that trade. If Power gets Barrass, I will start buying clay to build my own statue to him outside VUWO!

Lets not swallow every rumour posted here either.

Every single one of them needs to be tested and viewed with a skeptical eye.

As for the Barass rumour specifically. Of course our list management team have probably made enquiries about a trade given the state of the Eagles list and our kpd stocks. Just as they made enquires about Liam Jones the moment that restrictions on his resumption in the game were lifted. Right now our and every clubs list management teams would be turning over every player manager rock in the land asking questions of all kinds of contracted and seemingly unobtainable players who might strengthen their lists.

Thats their actual job.

If we could harness the keyboard energy expelled on posting, creating, promoting, refuting and discussing the trade rumours across BF each 'silly season' and convert that effort into energy, several coal-fired power stations in this country would become redundant almost immediately.

Cleveland is claiming to have a source of inside knowledge. It's not an opinion.

He has also claimed that Leon Cameron is definitely coming to the Bulldogs next year and that the Lobb deal is "done."

As far as I can tell he has never had any mail that has been confirmed or denied so far. Time will tell if he's legit. I don't have an opinion either way.

Are you one of the Salty Bulldog chaps or have they just read this forum this week and are claiming intel? They’re running with the same intel pretty much verbatim around Cameron , Lobb and hinting at Barass.
I am not salty. Tipping they just read this

Did someone say Myles Bergman was being put on the trade table from Port?

Would be a good get, really rate his ability on the wing. 190cm, Massive boot and leap. Only 20, has tonnes of development left him in.

Ports first and Bergman for Dunkley would be great.

Yeah I've liked what I've seen from him, if he's on the table then I'd be keen on him.

But... if all the coal-fired power stations are closed, how will we power up our keyboards for all the epic gameday thread melts???

We liked him in his draft year, may have taken him ahead of Weightman if given the chance.
If we lose a winger or two or three.... he could be an option.

We would have to send something back ports way I reckon , would be a good to get ports 1st and Bergman

What do you think would balance out a Dunkley for Bergman trade noting Port don't have anything between Pick 7 and Pick 51 (but will get Amon compo pick)? Best to worst outcomes:
  • Bergman + Pick 7 for Dunkley
  • Bergman + Pick 7 for Dunkley + Pick 27
  • Bergman + Amon Compo (~Pick #26) for Dunkley
  • Bergman + Future 2nd for Dunkley

I think the second one would be best. Port won't want to part with Bergman & Pick 7 for Dunkley and we won't exactly be falling over our feet for Bergman & a second for Dunkley.

I don’t think you need to be sceptical. There were 2 posters with the same info. This forum was always a better place when Fronk and co passed on what they heard but because they get questioned on the legitimacy of their info they rarely post anymore and why would they.

Option 1 is what we'd want, but likely overvalues Dunkley.
Option 2 would be acceptable to the dogs, not sure Port go for that.
Option 3 likely weighted too far the other way - Port would do, dogs wouldn't.
Option 4 is a hard pass for the dogs imo.

Option 2 (or close to it) is what the dogs should be after imo. If Dunkley went in his draft now he'd be what, pick 6-10? Fairly loaded draft but he's definitely a top 10 player from that list imo, plus he's entering his prime. I don't think it's overvaluing him to say he'd need to get a top ten first rounder as the core of the deal.

Dogs also need players that can contribute now imo, so future picks and project players from the second or third round won't cut it.

Am I correct in saying that Lobb is also a salary dump for Freo, especially if they get Jackson?

Hence will come slightly cheaper trade wise.
Fremantle supporters think they can have Lobb, Darcy, Jackson and Taberner all in the same team and because they didn't get Brayshaw they have no cap issue

Gets complication but what about Option 3 (starts in Ports favour) but adding Ports Future 2nd and our Pick 37 to balance a bit .

Essentially: Bergman + Amon Compo (~Pick #26) + Future 2nd for Dunkley + Pick 37

If we are losing Dunkley to Port pick 7 has to be the aim. Bergman would be a nice to have but I wouldn’t be missing 7 just to weave in Bergman somehow.

I love it. A whole city powered by scuttlebutt!
