ahhhh 2015. What a joy of a season.
i just hope we dont overpay for Dunkley, very good player but has limitationsYeah the fact we welcomed him back 2 years ago after he blindsided the club, just for him to use every club in the league as leverage in negotiations trying to pinch every cent from us - whilst his teammates take less than market value to help build a successful team - doesn’t exactly sit well with me to be honest.
His form???
Were you at the game on Saturday?
He basically kept us in the game and was one of the few with energy who looked like they gave a crap...
Darcy over Bruce send Naughton forward and Gards is better then Keath nowI’ve never been on the "Send Naughton back" bandwagon but I think we should seriously consider it if we do get Barrass and Lobb.
Starting defence: Barrass, Keath and Naughton. Depth: Gardner, Darcy, Cordy, Buku, O’Brien
Starting forwards: Bruce, JUH and Lobb (w/ English rotating). Depth: Darcy, Schache(?), O’Brien, Cordy, Buku
Still has flexibility with Naughton, Darcy, TOB, Buku and Cordy able to swing when needed. Main thing is that main three defence would really open up Naughton and Keaths ability to intercept
I agree that right now Gardner is better than Keath, I’m expecting him to return to his usual standards over the preseason though. Hasn’t looked properly match-fit for monthsDarcy over Bruce send Naughton forward and Gards is better then Keath now
I'm sure the AFL would love that just after we snared JUH & Darcy in successive years.
- Eagles and Barras renegotiate his contract to 1 year deal ending this year and then he becomes a free agent
- We throw a big contract at Barrass so they get band 1 compensation (pick #3)
Back to fantasy land:
Essentially we trade our first and second rounders for Barrass and Duggan. Eagles trade Barrass and Duggan for 2 firsts (including a top 3) and a second.

PLAYERCARDEND- Again, completely unrelated WCE pick up a chunk of Duggan's contract which we use to fund the Barrass contract
Make it happen Sammy Power. Sure its against a bunch of rules but no worse than the Hogan and Viney fiasco that went unpunished.
My source sent me a clip of the meetingHope Sammy power is speaking to Willie Riolis manager.
Players and clubs are stupid to not structure the long term deals as 1 year plus a series of options that either party can trigger.I'm sure the AFL would love that just after we snared JUH & Darcy in successive years.
I like the theory but it has some Greenwood risk attached to it whereby Barrass could just sign anywhere when he becomes a free agentBack to fantasy land:

West Coast won’t care. He’ll be restricted presumably in the top 25% of earners so WCE can match if he wants to go somewhere else for less.I like the theory but it has some Greenwood risk attached to it whereby Barrass could just sign anywhere when he becomes a free agent
Yeah I was more-so thinking risky for our end if other clubs became interested suddenly due to him not requiring a tradeWest Coast won’t care. He’ll be restricted presumably in the top 25% of earners so WCE can match if he wants to go somewhere else for less.
Or they could negotiate it to a 1 year deal with options in the clubs favour so he can’t screw them over somehow.
Wasn't Josh Kelly's deal something like that?Players and clubs are stupid to not structure the long term deals as 1 year plus a series of options that either party can trigger.
Barrass is a scenario where everyone might prefer that it was a shorter term deal.
Someone Cleveland knows said we are asking/tryingWhen did this Barrass talk start?
He's sold his house in Perth, wife been recruited by Melbourne Vixens, they've bought a house in Seddon, has nominated us - also told the media he just wants us to get him here. Is happy to take a pay cut to break his WCE contract and sign for less with us because his family and the McCombs go back years. Also has been secretly in awe of Ryan Gardner, and his defensive spoils. When did this Barrass talk start?
Yes exactly. Maybe Kelly's manager pushed the boat out too far and clubs are scared.Wasn't Josh Kelly's deal something like that?
Something like 2 years + a 5 year trigger clause. It was pretty unique
Very funny. He's sold his house in Perth, wife been recruited by Melbourne Vixens, they've bought a house in Seddon, has nominated us - also told the media he just wants us to get him here. Not really.
cleveland said a few pages back that he'd heard some inside info that we were having a decent dip at trying to get him.
