we've offered him a contract, how is that pushing him out?
The offering of a contract is a smokescreen.

Usually if you don't want a player that you think may have value on the open market you offer a low-ball contract that will drive up the value for a trade or in this case free agency compo.

Welcome to the Bulldogs, Liam. Can’t wait to see him pull on the red, white & blue. Here’s something I’ve been working on for a few weeks.
Aha, a new Bevo tactic - players to wear out-sized jumpers, and when flying for marks, the additional air intake acts like a sail. Our marking next year will be through the roof! Liam Jones, with his existing leap and the sail add-on, will be unstoppable.

Jones/Keath/Gards/Darcy all ahead of him.

As bad as TOB was this year, he was still better than Cordy.

Buku is an improvement in the 3rd defender role Cordy should be playing also.

We'll be fine without him.
I disagree. TOB was a great disappointment. Praying for some kind of improvement next year.

14 pick difference in McStay and Jones is hilarious.

The red jumper returns!

Hey, I paid for a redhead, who is this?

Can’t wait for him to grow into that jumper over the offseason. 😀

If you thought the ball was the only thing that could carry an extra 20m with a strong wind you’re in for a surprise.

Why do you say we are pushing him out the door? It has been reported that we have a contract offer in front of him. As a free agent he is well entitled to consider his options.
Agree, it’s like Lipinski and Young. The amount of times I read we got rid of them frustrates me. They were both offered contracts and were wanted.

There are subtle ways to get rid of players, as another posted mentioned above. A deliberate low-balling contract has the same effect. I don't know if we did that to Lipinski and Young, but we have certainly used it as a tactic over the years, as have other clubs.

Don’t know what our offer was but I genuinely believe Dogs were disappointed to lose them. Think it was more those guys were sick of being fringe and were guaranteed more opportunity at new clubs. Who knows if they would of got a better go this year if they stayed.

I hope the club looks at getting AMT in. Need his forward pressure.
Interesting to see if he has maintained his condition. Jones has played a decent level of footy this year, and by all reports kept himself in tip-top condition. AMT had injury issues, which exacerbated fitness issues. Has he been playing anywhere? Don't want another Allen Jakovich scenario.

If they trade 15 it is hard to see how it gets done.
Indeed. It would be crazy on Brizzies behalf.

They either walk away from this trade period with either;

Dunkley and enough points for Ashcroft and Fletcher, or

Enough points for Ashcroft and Fletcher and some left over junk picks.

That is a proper no-brainer. Epic mismanagement if they don't get Dunkley .

I've said this before. We should be asking for Lohmann and Wilmont as part of the deal.

Offered them a contract yes, that contract had a remuneration figure yes but that was the extent of it what it lacked was detail of direction and role for them going forward.
