If we have made a commitment to Lobb we should honour it imho.
I was pretty hesitant to see us give any more than Pick 39 to Freo for Lobb.

But after Brisbane had the nerve to ask for Pick 30 + 39 in return for 21 + F1, I'd be more than happy to send both those picks to Freo just as a middle finger to Brisbane

That's incredibly depressing.

The whole 'just do the deal and be grateful for what you get - stop being difficult' attitude towards us blows my mind.
Polar opposite to what it would be if it was Geelong or Tigers. Media would be lording them for taking a strong stance and being a well organised strong club that don't tolerate being *ed over

We will have a few FS coming through in the next few years after this one.
We seriously need to get in multiple late first / early second round picks, to balance out only getting 1/2 top line players per year for a few years.

Early doors, but imo would take a big leap from Croft to be pushing toward the top of the draft next year.

I dont get the feeling we will be cutting deep this year. We still have a 35 year old cooked Stefan Martin yet to announce his retirement.

Straw poll of the hardcore fans...

It's a stupid framing. 12 & 19 isn't two first rounders, but if we had been offered that I doubt many would rather send him to the draft. Conversely, Brisbane's original offer was for two first rounders, but the entirety of the deal was unacceptable.

We'd never really "send him to the draft," anyway. If he goes it would be his choice. We'd put an offer in front of him and hope that he'd ultimately take it.

Loyalty is always an important factor when choosing a club captain - that campaigner has very little of it.

The choice between Zorko (look up his past personal issues) and a two time traitor in Dunkley. If they make Dunkley captain may as well put it down as A.Dunkley.

At any cost? Didn't Freo say they wouldn't trade him unless we offered Bont or Naughton?

Speaking in absolutes about how we should conduct a negotiation is just stupid, imo. I agree that we should honour it within reason.

Thanks for that captain obvious.
