There’s just something that really put me off about what he did the other week. Young key forward at age 18 who has pretty much been their only key forward for the first part of the season, running into an open goal with Gresham standing there who could have just put a shepherd on for him and then celebrated the goal with him, decided to crack the shits and not celebrate at all is very telling in my eyes.

I’m all for Doedee though!

if Eagles were to finish last and TIm is All Australian would we consider trading TIm and our first rounder for the Eagles first pick. Reid looks perfect for our midfield but English could be AA for the next 5 years. He also is susceptible to concussion. Bit of a "mystery box" vibe to that trade. If English hits AA this year then we'd be insane to entertain a trade for him at all. The whole point of picking early is you're hoping you can find yourself an AA quality player

Tough question, if English singed for 5 years I would agree as I think he could become one of the best players in the game but if he was 50/50 and wanted to go back to WA at some time in the next few we would have to consider

If we were to also include our first I’d want something in addition to pick 1 back.

But yes I would do it if he made it clear he’d be leaving the following year.

Only way i'm considering that is if Tim literally came to us and said I want a trade back to WA or trade me now because i'm leaving next year etc.

Even then, the most valuable ruck trade asset in the AFL in English, plus our first is too much to give for pick 1. Look at what Jackson went for and English is more valuable than him.

Only if English told us in no uncertain terms that he would be requesting a trade, and not with our first.

Just a shame the Crows are starting to play well. Unless the rumors of him coming this way was a "wants to return to Vic" related thing. Would probably take money to lure him from the Crows if they play well for the rest of the season.

My money is he stays at Adelaide, or Geelong swoops in. Was a Falcons boy, and most people growing up in Geelong are mad Cats fans. Would make the Cats backline hard to break for the next few years with Stewart and DeKoning there as well.

I enjoyed from Roaming Brian after the Freo game that the Naughton and English families clearly know each other quite well. Hopefully keeps them both here.

I'm iffy on Duursma too, but I think Bergmann has real promise. Vic boy and OOC this year.

I like Bergman, has pleasantly surprised me with his ability to play tall in defence, was great against us as the 3rd man up.

He just needs to clean up ball use a fraction. Curiously checked his season averages compared with Baker on Footywire. Both on similar disposal averages. Baker wins out in terms of goals scored, and score assists, more meters gained, whilst going at 70% and less turnovers.

Bergman wins out in marks, clearances, one percenters, intercepts, and tackles. At 63% ball use and more clangers. Bergman also wins out in contested ball.

Bergman has spent some time off the back half this season, than wing. Hence his higher defensive stats, where Baker has spent more time in the forward half of the ground. Which is why the offensive stats are in his favour.

Bailey Williams is pretty similar in a few categories himself to both. Going at a high 80% efficiency. But well down on metres gained compared to the other two.

I'd still take Bergman myself if he doesn't cost us a decent first rounder. Though Williams and Baker have both filled in the wing spots well, where us fans spent the preseason worrying if we had anyone at all who can play there at all since Hunter left.
