Bottom line is he’s right back where he was two years ago. He’s never shown any indication publicly of being 100% committed to the club since the last trade attempt. Just thrown out lines like being happy at the club etc without giving any indication of staying long-term. What happens if his GF decides to play for the Perth team next year? Happy for him to just F off to Adelaide and let the team get on with it. As a fan I’ve not warmed to him again after the Essendon saga, so I’m not attached like some fans likely would be.

The last 2 years he has put his body on the line for the cause. He never takes a backward step. His also reportedly our best or when of our best trainers.

If that’s not 100% commitment then I don’t know what is.

The problem with that grab is you don’t hear the question before the answer.

It would have been a leading question fishing for a similar answer to the one he got, eg ‘Josh, do you take into consideration your girlfriend who lives in Adelaide into your decision’.

Answer: ‘Yes she lives in Adelaide and family is an important factor’ etc etc.

Just a rubbish grab, similar to News.com which is a blight on our society.
100% and that’s sort of my point, i.e. tacky journalism.

Even though it’s flawed, there’s one reason for him to go to Port and the journos know it.

I wouldn’t read anything into it.

Let Dunkley walk. Draft well with the top pick we get as a trade, and then make a play for Crouch from the Crows. The latter will rack them up for fun in the middle and arguably be an upgrade as inside ruck rover anyway.

Win win.

Except he was only one of about 5 players who was fully committed to the cause last Saturday and has been bloody good this year.

Yeah I didn’t mean in terms of performance on-field. I was referring to the numerous opportunities he’s been given over the last couple of years to indicate an intention to remain at the club.

News hasn't influenced how I feel.

I personally edit countless hours of videos every week and I counted numerous times where audio was cut and snipped up in that clip. Whilst I back flip on whether I think he'll go or not, that news grab does absolutely nothing to sway my view.

Ok I’ll say it again. I’m not questioning his commitment on the field and willingness to give 100% in a game. I was referring to the fact that given numerous opportunities over the last two years to indicate that he’s 100% back in the fold and keen to sign an extension, he has continually been evasive and left the door open to another trade request.

I have been an advocate of keeping Dunkley due to his last half form however this is just getting petty now. Make a decision, announce it and let everyone move on FFS!

I'm thinking the Port offer came a fair while ago and liked it but wasn't sure what he'd do so Tippah only signed up herself for 1yr and if he does go she can extend hers or not. If he goes we get pick 8.

Probably waiting for after B&F??

Just on news short take from him to say big decision to make as he is grateful everything the club has given him rah rah...

He does love the attention, at least 3-4 crap news segment interviews the past week where he plays a straight bat.

Whatever he said, or however the 'interview' was edited, a player who is planning to stay wouldn't be doing these interviews, as there's no need. I don't believe for a minute he hasn't decided yet. As the Toyd scenario showed, and Clarkson alluded to recently, negotiations happen a long time before the trade period, so any clubs involved (current, prospective) have already factored it in and likely agreed to a trade in principle. Happy to be proven wrong, but would be surprised if he stays.

Think you are right. I’d say right now it’s more about trying to apply a bit more leverage to maximise $.
One team may panic and increase the offer

I agree, if he was staying why not say it no reason to hold it back.

The interview wasn’t planned, though.

He lives for this attention. Massive US Sports fan. Probably planning his LeBron like announcement.

He will end up in QLD, said it from start of the season. Likely will wait until the lions are out to announce anything.

I would love him to stay though, far and away the best mid for the second half of the season. Cannot question his efforts for the dogs this season
