In hindsight I wish he hadThat explains why he wanted to go to Essendon!
He just wants to play for a team where everyone is pulling in the same direction.
Makes perfect sense now.
Charlie Cameron goes alright as does Jy SimpkinAny indigenous players at North or Lions we can ask about?
They may be looking for a way out of their respective clubs right about now.
He’s a good player but do we actually need another centre square on baller?Jack Graham looking at options. Yeah, I would be interested.
Dunkley is an A grade footballer whose competitiveness, overhead marking, ball-winning and tackling have been influential for a number of years and it is always unfortunate to lose high-quality talent, but it's not unreasonable to swing this in a positive light. He is a bottom-10% kick in the entire comp (I assure you this isn't revisionism, I have felt this way for years) and we are a side who routinely waste forward thrusts through sub-par ball use. If we can turn this situation via trade or salary cap manipulation into an efficient defender or ball user then I'll actually be quite happy with Dunks leaving. No resentment, think it can be quite a win win.
Simpkin is a free agentCharlie Cameron goes alright as does Jy Simpkin
Talented but homesick for WA is the reason.Hawthorn are going to trade/delist Tyler Brockman. Is he any good?
Tarryn Thomas also one worth a lookSimpkin is a free agent
Issues management is about preparing for possibilities and likelihoods. Official notification is when the likelihood becomes definite. So a lot of preparation can go into a likely outcome while the participants are requested not to speculate publicly and to ‘flat bat’ media enquiries prior to giving definitive notification. So when the club says they received notification today, even though they have been actively preparing for the likelihood, they are not lying. Its a common process but it is frustrating for stakeholders (fans) who want a definite outcome asap while the decision makers (clubs) see no good can come from speculative public comment and employees (players) comply cos they want the best deal to be struck. But the club statement said we were disappointed and we'd only just been notified....surely the club wouldn't lie to us in a statement.....
THink he just re-signed so not sure how the CBA handles trading after signingTarryn Thomas also one worth a look
Why would he go to GC? He's from Tassy has a heap of talent and can play the on ball half forward roleTHink he just re-signed so not sure how the CBA handles trading after signing
Plus he would go to Gold Coast
what a disgrace this industry is, when Clarko is our most admired leader, and Fagan not far behindIt’s not looking good for Fagan / Clarko .
Especially after the shots he fired about professionalism on the way outAll things aside, the thought of Dunks having to go to a club in turmoil looking for a new coach is admittedly very funny
Maybe it was planned by BevoAll things aside, the thought of Dunks having to go to a club in turmoil looking for a new coach is admittedly very funny
I used to laugh at the MMM commentary team when they commentated Brett Ebert and just call him Head.I think Rhylee West leads the league in that category - huge noggin
We couldn't due to points issue when trying to get JUH. I am sure if we were able to use the picks they offered us properly then it might have got done.In hindsight I wish he had
It's the unbeatable culture up there which does it for Josh. Under a potentially non existent head coach, and captain Dane Zorko. All things aside, the thought of Dunks having to go to a club in turmoil looking for a new coach is admittedly very funny
Thinking about this more, would you do:Man I want Hunter Clark on the wing, would happily on-trade one of our late firsts from Brissy with maybe a late pick back from Saints for points
Sounds good, I don't think i could stand another season of snakes and ladders. He’s a good player but do we actually need another centre square on baller?
I feel it’s time we restructure our midfield and give them proper defined roles. Enough of the six man merry go round we’ve run with for the past 3 years. Bont, Macrae and Libba start in the centre every game. Smith and Treloar both rotate through the wings and half forward but are cover for that centre trio.
Let’s stop ******* around and playing two sets of starters for 50% each and just back our stars in. Treloar is a good option on the wing and half forward. Genuine goal kicker and good user when he puts his head down. Smith can run all day and needs to spend the preseason practising that full pace delivery inside 50 from a wing. He could be a weapon.
Actually Tarryn and his family are from Sydney they moved over to Tasmania when he was a teenager. Why would he go to GC? He's from Tassy has a heap of talent and can play the on ball half forward role
Terrible for usThinking about this more, would you do:
Dogs:
Out: Dunkley, Schache, Pick #39
In: Clark, Brisbane R1 2023
Saints:
In: Pick #15, Schache
Out: Clark, Pick #47
Lions:
In: Dunkley, Pick #39, Pick #47
Out: Pick #15, R1 2023
Picks quoted adjusted for Amon and McStay band 2 compensation (pick #19 and pick #20). Leaves Brisbane with Picks #20, #35, #39, #46, #47 and #71 which is 2,556 points. They need 2400 to match Ashcroft at pick #1 and that should give them enough (with 2023 deficits) to match on Fletcher.
Brisbane should also get to work on somehow incentivising North not to bid at pick #1.
