I can’t actually listen to trade radio but I see the crazy arsed trades he suggests on TwitterI Turn the Radio off when old Adam is on lol
And countless injuries that have sidelined him for long periods. He has shown he can play in patches and to think that not only current coach and list managers but previous ones who persevered with him know less than us is absurd. We are talking about having ten pre seasons under his belt.
What makes you think we are making no headway? I would much rather we do things right than half arsed rushing things to meet the MSM and supporter timelines. The way the vultures are circling our talls really highlights how imperative it is to get all the boxes ticked for 2024.. Especially coaching and fitness wise! (Neither of which at this stage appear to be gaining any traction?)
This is a “window” year opportunity and must be treated as such before the Swans, Pies, (or anyone the AFL desires?) pillages some of our toys out the cot!
I don’t know what the story is with Bedendo but I would keep McNeil there are worse players than him and he is still youngThe positive is that Power has cut pretty much everyone that most wanted moved on. Roarke, Bedendo & McNeil seem to be the only ones left without contracts. Bedendo will be retained and probably one of the others on a one year deal.
Yeah nahWith the worst coaching corps we've had since 2014 - which is the main problem with this team.
Sadly that is a depressing take and is not right. They will try and fail.Sadly, methinks next season will be our last blessed with guns Naughton and JMH, and to a lesser extent, Lobb, Darcy and Croft playing in the same team…
Sydney’s very cornerstone, in a predominantly non AFL environment, is to have a multi million dollar poster boy as their long-term main attraction.. A Lockett, Hall, Franklin..
The Swans AND THE AFL will throw the kitchen sink at one of ours to ensure they get their wish.. AND it’ll be totally beyond us to match what they’ll offer!
As someone earlier stated…
The league and the general fanbase don’t like us “battlers” to have too many nice things!
Yes exactly and you can’t begrudge players doing thatI think JUH Re-signs with us on a 4 year contract extension on good coin takes the lad to Free Agency
Relax champ he is likely to be delisted. Btw he could play multiple positions and unlike many others was disciplined not a kick stat chaser. Injurit’s have let him down but we definitely need more players who can sacrifice their own games for the teams greater goodWhat position does he genuinely play? Hasn't shown s**t in his ten seasons at the club. Disgusting he is still on the list at this point, there is no upside to his game, has struggled at VFL level and gifted games when others were not afforded the same leniency for lack of impact.
No player other than Naughton. If the strong rumours are correct about Sydney's up to 1.5 mill per year for 10 years for JUH, we will struggle to keep him. It's an offer no player could conceivably reject. The question for us is will we have the capital to match it.
Not happening s you can relaxI also fear a big side coming hard won't have the trade capital.
Someone like Sydney we'll end up with two pick 12's (or thereabouts)!

Great postOut of interest, I rewinded eleven years this morning and went to the Big Footy archives to read our thread leading up to the 2012 draft - the draft in which we took Stringer and Jack Macrae at picks 5 and 6.
Wow...all of the love was for Jono O'Rourke (who many agreed would be ideal for us, and would even end up the player of the draft), Jimmy Toumpas and Troy Menzel. There was barely a mention of Macrae, and when there was, it was pretty sceptical. At least in the few pages that I read. I don't know about the other 700 pages!
Perspective, heh. It was a good panacea against being seduced by three minute highlights videos and two sentence write-ups. And it just reinforced how our recruiting team have actually smashed our first round draft picks out of the park for about a decade.
You think Sam Power can’t work a spreadsheet? He knows what he is doingAlso how do we get rid of Lobb after next season? He probably plays an importantly role next year but that $500k we’d be paying him is most certainly needed elsewhere given Darcy will have a couple more preseasons under his belt.
Also naive to think that means he will leaveIt’s a 37% increase by 2027 which is just the fourth year of any prospective contract. He won’t be signing with us for $1.5 million but it would be naive to think that there wouldn’t be offers that have that number or above during particular years during the life of the deal.
That’s rhetorical bullshit. Smith has always been minimum payments player which every list needs otherwise you lose your stars to big offers elsewher.e.Because he was given opportunities in front of players that had genuine ability, players that have been let go to other clubs for nothing or delisted and have gone on to show they have value, Roarke has none. Afl is not a charity game where spots are reserved for players that are likeable. Should have been delisted 5+ years ago. Accepting mediocrity.
We didn’t win a flag with him getting his arse kicked in the third quarter. Drops his head too much for my liking.English is more important to re-sign, as much as I love jamarra, we’re not winning a flag without English

Totally agree. To win premierships you need role players on small contracts. I think the other side to this argument that’s fair however is that you should only be given 2-3 seasons max to prove yourself as a cheap role player otherwise rinse and repeat until we find the next Liam Picken etc. Anthony Scott has proven his value Roarke really hasn’t.That’s rhetorical bullshit. Pretty sure it was Stef Martin getting his ass kicked, not EnglishWe didn’t win a flag with him getting his arse kicked in the third quarter. Drops his head too much for my liking.
Roarke hasn’t always been available, but his played well in big games/finals. To me that proves his value.Totally agree. To win premierships you need role players on small contracts. Martin and English matched Gawn you mean. It was Martin who was in the ruck when they kicked 3 centre clearance goals in a row to get them going. People can't say it was English getting pantsed when he only spent about 30% of game time in the ruck and wasn't playing there when the game really swungIncorrect. Martin matched Gawn for 2+ quarters. Jackson went into the ruck smashed both English and Martin.
